Given how well Mahoney trained in the NRL pre-season and the fact he played round 1 and round 10 in ISP at 20 is an indication that we'll retain him.

Also how he called out teams in Salary cap trouble like the dogs currently are being able to sort it put with under table payments. Done in a smart way by using themself and Newcastle. Nqld made a few very bad mistakes. The biggest was trying to keep a squad together. It is important to always freshen things up so when Cootes contract was coming to an end they should of let it.Same goes for Scott.

They lost 2 stars of the future.

Green knew Thurston had a bit of time left and same as Scott. They also had best chances of keeping these 2 young blokes if released older players.

Banning a player for 10 weeks only hurts the club. If you could reduce his cost under the cap it would make sense to me but otherwise no.
