How long has Cleary been coaching compared to BA? And of cause the figures will look similar when Cleary has coached 3 teams from the start of a rebuilding faze.

Just keep in mind he kind of left one club who needed him and wanted him and was then sacked from his next club.

Cleary to me looks a bit arrogant,sneaky,coy.....

Well the rumours at the time were that Gus wanted more of a hands on approach with the players and Cleary wasn't really up for that. Griffin by all reports allows Gus to play with that boys as he sees fit.

Maybe that has/had something to do with it? But whatever the real reason you can't deny that Gould has had a major influence on the paddock with the players since Cleary left especially during that time where the Panthers went through that shit period under Griffin with all the stories that came out reporting Gould's involvement.

I didn't say that mate. You chose to say that to suit your argument. Our team was shit when the coach got here and is still shit today and stayed shit for longer then it should of with some suspect signings that he should never of made, being a former assistant coach of the Sea Eagles, he should of known better then to sign Watmough and Foran. But I will grant you Parra have the potential to be a very, very good side with 3 or 4 astute signings if the coach is up to it now.

Cleary on the other hand started at 3 different clubs that were all shit and left the 1st two in much better shape then when he started. The 3rd he has transformed into a giant killer already. One off season and BAM better results then BA's wet dreams.

Personally, I put him in a bracket of solid first grade coaches behind the truly elite (Bennett, Bellamy et al). He might be better than BA in a few areas but he isn’t streets ahead of him. I reckon more people would agree with me on this than you.

This is how I judge a coach.

1 - Players love him

2 - Smart recruiting

3 - Tactics

4 - Juniors bought through

And if im too judge present coaches I think Souths guys done best as his style has turned souths into a great side.
McGregor couldnt coach last year. Now he can. What changed? And the opposite for BA.
What changed is some luck. Where would Saints be if HUNT,AITKEN,DUFTY,VAUGHN where out injured most the season. Not top of ladder. So all of a sudden Mary cant coach.

BA seems to have the love of player and gets an A from me there.. Recruits have been hit and miss but a pass mark. Tactics i feel below average and bringing juniors through also below average but that isnt completely his control.

If Salmon is a HIT and we unearthed a couple more id move thst up too a pass mark or even slightly above average.
Currently Tepai and Bevan are not setting world on fire while Alvaro is getting better each week. But 5 yrs and the only 3 guys in team currently who debut from BA is poor imo.

That’s not what happened.

All reports are that Clearly lost the players (something that hasn’t yet happened with BA).

Gould doesn’t just all of a sudden decide he wants to be more hands on. He had heard the rumblings about Cleary and knew he wasn’t up to it.

You can spin it all you like but Cleary didn’t want to leave. Gus punted him because he was on the nose at Penrith.

Gould appears much more comfortable with Griffin so I don’t see why he would now be more hands on. That’s just you projecting.

Show me where the media were reporting that he had lost the dressing room. From everything that I saw no one really knew why. Maybe some speculated at first that he had lost the players, but that quickly was dispelled by many in the press and the question remained unanswered definitively by anyone.

I wouldn't be surprised if BA is burning out, because he's performing several roles other than his own.

My mail is that Bernie is effectively completing both the CEO and Football Manager roles. I am not sure of his experience as a Football Manager but that is what I believe is currently the position.

I don't rate Madge very highly. He is one dimensional coach, who couldn't or wouldn't adjust or adapt to the players that he had after the 2014 season. Just a hard nosed angry disciplinarian merkin that will get the decks polished and spotless by the crew with fear as the main motivator, but eventually will wear thin.

Then his bag of trick is left empty and the crew will throw him overboard.

I'm not saying that you said something, I am describing what you are actually doing.

You are talking down Penrith's squad in comparison to Parramatta's, which is a shallow attempt to make Cleary's efforts seem greater than BA's.

Its 100% what you are doing and it cannot be denied because it is there for everyone to see.

BA will be here in 2019 and potentially beyond after the Board realise that a dedicated Football Manager is required in order to take some pressure of BA and appoint someone from left field who no one will see as a candidate until appointed.
