The reason why Klemmer will leave is because he and Mbye are the only attractive options that the Dogs have where teams will absorb their entire wage.

No way that will happen with the Morris boys and Eastwood.

The dogs must register 30 players by June 30 2019. Even we need to register our 30th player before June 30 this year. I think we have only registered 29.
Yeah but isn't Mbye on like $1.8m for 2019/20 in his back-ended deal ? Crazy

Given Stone is named in the 21 thus week I'd say he's number 30, at a guess.

I think the Dogs will be frantically shopping guys like Eastwood, Tolman, Frawley Foran etc to ESL clubs. Klemmer would be an absolute last resort. Hopefully they get desperate
It’s the back ended deals that are the problem. They will be the priority. I’d take Klemmer and pay up to $800k per season.

Morris twins and Eastwood are both off contract so they are no help to fixing their cap.

I cannot see Klemmer leaving the dogs ... i reckon its all just talk - perhaps even his manager talking up his interest to try and keep the dogs paying up in the future
Except he still has multiple years remaining on his contract there. They have to pay him. But he also knows he won’t be getting an upgrade from them.
Mbye seems likely to leave ... and yeah maybe the tigers. He is doing quite well at fullback .... whether he frees up enough cash at the dogs i dont know

Lastly, i hope no one ever considers Hasler a reasonable replacement ... he is a disaster at cap management .... they are already paying Graham about half a million to play at the dragons and now might need to do similar with others - fmd!!
I’d say Hasler knew what he was doing. Just like at Manly he built a legit premiership window. Unlike at Manly he didn’t have the same amount of luck - Manly’s two grand final wins were against the Warriors and the Storm minus Smith. But Canterbury could well have won a premiership under Des. There’s an element of luck in any premiership just as there is in any finals loss.

I ain't Pou but realistically I'd take Vaughan and Ah Mau. Maybe Frizell, but I reckon he's a bit overrated and Ma'u is preferable for mine if he finds his best form again.

De Belin is a good player but he's a f**kwit and Brown is just as good. Graham is basically a longer-minute Alvaro, but old as f**k. Sims is no better than what we have.

I think names like Latimore, Allgood, Lawrie speak for themselves outside that lot....
I'd take the first 4 forwards plus Sims you mentioned as they are better than any current Parra forward. I'd also throw in their hooker. The only Parra forward I'd keep is Brown with maybe Alvaro but as the fifth middle forward.

Who is this bloke? Is he the big centre from our 21's last year?

If Klemmer leaves it has to be to us, if he leaves and goes to another NRL they we we need new recruitment staff ASAP.
Klemmer is worth $750+ a season, one of the best middle forwards in the game and has some agro about him too, something we really lack.

Not really, as they would have already spend their 2019 cap money on the assumption Morris / Eastwood aren’t there.
Yep it’s their 2019 cap that is (allegedly) already f**ked. They couldn’t re-sign Morris, Eastwood and Morris if they wanted to. They (allegedly) need to sign 14 more players and they only have $800k cap space to do it. Meaning they have to shed players to comply with minimum salary rules for those 14 players. It’s why they’re (allegedly) throwing top 30 contacts at SG Ball players.

Did we even talk to him?

The Gold Coast Titans have landing a signing coup, recruiting hulking Canberra Raiders prop Shannon Boyd on a four-year contract.

Boyd, who played four Tests for Australia in 2016, will join the Titans at the end of the season with his deal to keep him on the Gold Coast through to the end of the 2022 season.

The 194cm, 122kg front-rower has 100 NRL games to his name.

"Shannon has impressed me throughout the process and I believe he is a great acquisition for the club," Titans coach Garth Brennan said.

"He is an imposing figure that will bring some much needed size to our pack.

"He has played 100 NRL games and has represented his country so he brings with him a fair amount of experience that will help a number of our young guys.

"He will complement the forwards we already have here so I'm pleased he has chosen to join us.

"I'm looking forward to him joining the club next year."

The Titans' recruitment of Boyd follows the re-signing of Queensland Origin prop Jarrod Wallace on Monday.

Picked him up for $600k a year, a bargain at that price. Would have hoped we actually talked to him but we'll never really know.

I seriously hope, but I suspect otherwise, that BA has over-estimated our forwards again and has bought Junior (has this been confirmed yet?) as our only new forward and put the cheque book away. If this the case, and I have just a feeling, he will have lost me and many other supporters completely.

The only forwards from the dragons that I reckon would improve us are Vaughan / McInnes / Frizell. Rest are fairly similar to what we already have.

.

Why?

What if the Dogs only agree to release him to a club they don't hate? What if Klemmer wants to party on the GC? What if he wants to spend his days off fishing on the Barrier Reef and heads to NQ?

FFS people there are so many more factors that decide where a player goes, some of the narrow views on here are ridiculous. Klemmer would have to want to come and the Dogs would have to want to release him to us, unless both parties have no other option. And in that case I'm not sure it's a great outcome either.

Yeah but you reckon certified plodders Russell Packer and Tim Glasby would improve our pack so your opinion is meaningless
