More I think about it, the more I think trying to get Adam Reynolds and Robbie Farah would be great for us.

We need a quality hooker, and Reynolds wouldn't go too bad with Norman (I have been convinced that he may just be a good fit for us).

Whether we get either or both, though...

But using Hayne's money for them would be great.
Reynolds would be a good fit for us but why would the Bunnies let him go?

The team on top of the ladder and current Premiership favourites seem to think that getting a half from the UK Super League was good enough for them.

There's a bloke playing Hooker at the Raiders from the UK Super League who's probably going to go close to winning the Dally M
So you believe there are still NRL standard defenders amongst the halves remaining in the ESL? Whom do you have in mind?

Like Blake Green?
Pretty sure he's already contracted for next year. Which other returning Aussies do you have in mind? Albert Kelly, Chris Sandow, Todd Carney or Jamie Soward?

We don't need a match winner. We just need somebody who won't lose us matches. Another Blake Green would be ideal but I don't reckon there would be any more in the ESL. Let me know if I'm wrong.

Your original point was:

If they're not playing in Australia already do we even want them? Players go to the Super League because they're not good enough for the NRL (or in Carney's case, banned). If we need a backup we can surely find one in Australia. And if we need a top 17 player Australia is the only place where they exist.

You think players who go to super league are not good enough for the NRL. And as you said in another post you were talking about halves. I pointed out Blake Green as an example.

If we signed Reynolds for 2018 in November, after McGuire had issues with Grevsmuhl who signed elsewhere for the following season, I think Souths would look to offload him immediately.

Do you really think Green was good enough for the NRL when he went to the UK?

You are changing your argument.
I'm ensuring that one argument is not conflated with another:

1. Players go to the ESL when the NRL doesn't want them - true for Blake Green and plenty of others.

2. There are no NRL quality halves in the ESL - untrue for Carney (who is banned from the NRL). Note also that Green hasn't been in the ESL for two years, so he no longer applies.

Again, you originally said that NRL first grade quality halves don't play in the super league. I (and a few others) pointed out Blake Green. Obviously he was a UK half good enough for the NRL.
I was aware of Blake Green. I just think he was a one off.

What's to say that halves who weren't good enough to play in the NRL, went to the UK Super League to develop their game in a more halves conducive environment, enabling them to become good enough to be halves of an NRL standard, as Blake Green has proven is possible.

Do you have any evidence to back up your claim that it is not possible? Because Blake Green is evidence that what I suggest above is more than possible.

Hasn't Blake Green signed with Manly for next year, I'm pretty certain he has. Going off a report in today's tele do you think Ase Taylor will return to Brisbane next year.? If this report is correct then Brisbane will off load Ben Hunt.
