The problem I have with a masive clean out is it reflects back on BA. Into his 5th year it is finally the squad he wanted and assembled and yet it needs a massive clean out?

Alarm bells for me. He already dodged a bullet with Watmough and Foran. I am not a BA hater but surely people must question why we need a massive clean out
Do we need a massive clean out? Are we going to have one? More likely is that we have some personalities that detract from what Arthur wants the squad to be. Edwards is gone. I wouldn't be surprised if the Norman rumours are all true. It might end there for contracted players. And we have plenty off contract that haven't been re-signed. The ones we wanted to keep (Alvaro, Brown, Smith) were re-signed before the season started. Since then, nothing.

Ok, so a club with 2SOO front rowers signs another one, no questions asked by the NRL given th strength of their roster.

Good management or good accountants , whilst a decent question, look at what we have done currently and what apparently is in the future. What comfort are we getting from the club, certainly the review may identify the failings, but at the same time we need action that is identifiable. We have a lot of kids coming through who won't be supporters in the futures because of these failings, personally would be more comfortable if a strategy was apparent. Yes, leaks etc were damaging, but it's that lack of movement by the club which is a worry in itself.

Like most, this season has not helped in the big picture, and my interest in the game has taken a hit by my clubs inaction, hopefully it's short term and Bernie and BA can reinvigorate us all.

Gallens and Lewis will retire

I don't agree that Paulo transforms our pack. He's no Hayne godsend circa 2009. At most, he will play an integral part in a team where everyone else with a number on their back does the job that they are paid a substantially higher amount of income that the average Eels supporter gets in their back pocket. At worst, Parra Maccas franchise owner will be booking a world trip right about now.

Paulo is a piece in the puzzle. Problem being, there's many missing pieces.

I'm going to go way out to the left field with all of this. Parramatta is changing culturally, and faster than we all think. We don't appear to be tapping into the growing Indian population of the area for starters, and Parramatta needs to look in this direction as one of its avenues for players and marketing down the track. At the moment though, I don't see the NRL community doing anything to at least go down that road. They love their cricket more passionately than OZ fans. Why can't that be transposed into loving NRL? An Indian or two in Parra's first grade would also do wonders for filling the seats in the new stadium. BTW, I'm of anglo saxon descent, not that theirs anything wrong with that. Feel free to fry my arse.......merkins.
Indians play cricket because they're no good at real sports. It's why kids from the Caribbean nations don't play cricket any more. It's all soccer and basketball these days.

No kids from the Caribbean don't play cricket anymore because their board is a shambles.

Not much sense loving a sport where your hero has quit the national side because the merkins didn't pay him.

I don’t want to argue, but I’m sure the same was said about vave and matagi only a year or two ago.
I didn't rate Matagi, but I thought Vave would go better. Lane at least has some height and athleticism.
Can you honestly see lane helping us off the bottom if he has in fact signed???
If the team as a whole plays better and he is in it, then yes.
Paulo is a decent get about alone will do sweet f**k all. Let’s hope BA can pull a rabbit out of his ass, bc at this stage it ain’t looking good.
Paulo did plenty for us in 2016 before he left. He is one of the best attacking forwards in the game. Why wouldn't he be able to improve a pack that lacks good attackers in the middle?

So they're instead following their heroes in the Jamaican basketball and football teams?

Probably wouldn't have signed Mennings either if we knew we wouldn't have a bunch of TPAs like we thought we did when he signed.

He'd be a good signing for a club with loads of TPAs. Clubs like Parra need to be more careful with whom we throw big money at. We can probably only afford two or three blokes on more than $500k. Silly to waste it on some merkin who might only touch the ball half a dozen times.
