No surprises suits is disappointed in the eels not signing Hayne.

Since the plane left the NFL, he whored himself to Fiji rugby, considered the Waratahs and eventually signed with the Titans. God only knows if his manager spoke to French or jap rugby as well. Yeah, really sounds like he wanted to return home!!!!!

When he signed with the Titans he moaned that he'd been unemployed for a month and couldn't wait for the eels no longer, in desperation to save face. Yeah, it's the eels fault!!!! We've been waiting two years Hayne, after granting you a release to fulfil your dreams.

We've learned some valuable lessons here;

1. Hayne is about Hayne.
2. No individual is bigger than our club.
3. Suits can quite possible be Hayne's mother.

Of course I'm disappointed that the world's best player isn't running around in our clubs colours.
No he may have had that mantle and may again in the future, but right now he's looking like Benji with his puddin and walking.

I'm surprised actually cos I would have thought that training for 7s would have got him fit.

Lol comparing him to Marshall.
Yes he looks old and unfit. You disagree? Looking sharp you think ?

I get that you will defend your position but he was underdone x100. Understandable for some but he has been training with Fiji for 6 weeks. Shame that he looks overweight and was blowing like Benji.

What was he doing in his month of unemployment? Eating Maccas it seems.

I agree with $1.2m under the cap being more than we can handle while still trying to keep the rest of the squad. However i'm fairly sure he wouldn't have much trouble getting some legit TPA's. to bump the price up to at least close to the titans offer.
If it was at all his choice, i believe if our offer came in at anywhere over the $1m mark all up he would have taken that.
We offered a guy that was, and will be again, one of the top 3 players in the game, the best player NSW has had for the past decade the same as a guy who hasn't played a rep game.
Also it was almost half of what he was going to be offered if he didn't leave 2 years ago.
There is only 1 player in the game that would be the best fullback, centre or 5/8 in the game and that is Jarryd Hayne

Not sure anyone is denying he's a talent. It's his price that's more in question. Interesting to see he also said he wants to play finals footy this year. Although he's prolly just trying to justify his reasoning for joining the Titans.

Yet we already had Foran signed next year for the same money as Hayne was asking. Foran has gone and freed up that money.
Hayne showed more in one game today than Foran did all season for us.
Sure, Hayne threw an intercept pass and you have jumped upon that for laughs and giggles and childishly included that in your sig, but he was seriously the best player on the field today.
He hasn't played for 2 years. He had complete control whenever he had the chance today. Not everything is going to work, but almost everything did. Forced errors from kicks. Pinpoint bombs. Great cut out passes. Massively solid defence and try saving tackles. Try assists from kicks and passes. FMD, what more would you want from a seasoned NRL player, let alone someone who hasn't played the game for 2 years?
There are in my opinion, just 3 players in the NRL that are game changers. 3 players that are beyond comparison and command the top dollar.
Thurston, Cameron Smith and Hayne are the only NRL players in that league.

I cannot wait for him to be back in the NSW squad next year. I don't give a shit which position he plays. He is just that dominant.
We may very well be in it with a chance and I have no doubt that with him this year, we could very well have won those first two close games in Origin. The series was that close and he has proven in the past that he could (would) have been the X-Factor.

Anyway, you keep on hating him, because I'm going to keep on loving him.
I'm also going to keep on being sad that I can't love him for the Eels.

At peak slater and Inglis join this group. Plenty of player have these years where they can not be touched. Hayne had two of them. Barba had one also. IMO honest opinion Hayne after 2014 was ready to join the elites of Smith and Thruston if he could play at that level for 2 -3 more seasons. They have played at that level for 10 seasons +
Prior to 2009 Hayne was a great player. There are lots of great players around. Sometimes when a commentator raves on whena "start" player makes a break you feel it was better then when an average player makes one.
A good example is burgess. That run KE did the other night busting thru 5 tackles to almost score, If that was SAM it goes on the highlights of the footy show as play of the week.

In 2009 (half the season) Hayne was un touchable. I never seen a guy in that type of form since Benji Marshall who at his peak was also a great player. He won the tigers a grand final.
2010 hayne was good.I do not feel he ever come close to that 2009 form and by 2012 I was wondering what happened to Hayne.Perhaps the public was right-He was Hyped up.
After the 2013 season where he had now gone 2 season missing a lot of games I was nervous for 2014. I actually thought if Hayne injured himself for a large amount of time then perhaps he would be remembered for a guy who had the best half a season in NRL history. BUT he went up another level. He was the best player in the NRL by the end of the season.

My point is he never did it for 10+ years. Plenty of players have maybe nit been quite at Haynes level but in a class of there own for 3-4 years. What made Thurston-Fitler-Lockey-Smith etc so special is they did it for 10+years and in every game . Never a quiet or bad one.

If ben Barba played like he did that year he won the Dally M for 5 years in a row we would be talking the same way about him.

Because he is what I said before. A J Thurston. A C Smith. A J Hayne.
He is one of the 3 best players in the game atm. Even possibly better than the other two.

He would have clearly ripped us to a win on Friday night. Yet we had Robson trying to boss it. f**king lol.

He's worth what we were paying Foran. No more than that, because we were paying Foran way overs.
I've no doubt Hayne would have come to us on that dosh.
For some reason, BA was happy to have Foran on that money next season, but didn't want to pay Hayne the same wages.
I'm fine with that. It's BA's decision. I'm just disappointed.

Hayne did walk out on the team. Sometimes in life you have to play hard. At the time it happened the club should of made it clear we do not want you back-No player is bigger then the club

at the end of day as much as us fans hate it rugby league is a business now days, from the both the players and clubs point of view.
You could never blame a player in his late 20's for getting the best deal for himself. Most only play til they are 32 and those back last 3 years they need to make the best income they can.
Same as clubs letting older player go to keep younger ones.
It's a business, loyalty only goes so far and then you have to look after yourself/club.
He signed elsewhere, took to best deal for him, get over it, i did within 24hrs.

Maybe BA wants him as our #1.

I wouldn't chase him but it's just what I heard.

Just catching up on this.

Holmes is an amazing talent. I would be chasing him for our 1 for sure. Gutherson and French can wait their turn if we manage to get him - I'd throw 6-700k at Holmes. He is the total package as a FB, and that money would be cheap in a few years time.
