Surprised so many of you spent your Sunday afternoon watching the titans vs warriors just to sneak a peak at Haynemania

I loved one of the comments in the Titans V Warriors Game Day thread.... When Hayne was sitting on the bench for the first quarter of the game, someone commented "Hayne-Cam is pretty boring so far" to which someone else responded - "Still better than watching a Dragons game" LOL!

Of course I am.
He would have put Friday nights game away beyond doubt easily for us beforehand, way beyond us needing a lucky referee decision to pull us out of the shit.

He may have put the game away but I would hardly call that referee decision lucky, it's one of the only calls the referees are consistent with this year.

I had to laugh. I just read on Sportal (which I hardly read normally) that Parra are chasing Taumololo. Their reasoning? We are after Peter Parr. Which is all part of the plan as he has a really good relationship with the young back rower.
LOL. Talk about clutching at straws!

I think there have been reports saying we're after everyone even remotely linked with the NRL...

I understand Suitys frustration on not signing Hayne however I don't think even matching the offer would have seen him back at the club anyway. It's always been about the money and the ego. It would not have mattered one ounce what we offered. It was always about who was prepared to meet the fanfare and put him up where he wants to be. It's about his brand and what people can do to promote that brand.

It all happened far too quickly for mine despite his apparent frustrations of not being offered a contract and then it not being enough.

He would have earned considerable legitimate TPA's at Parramatta however a one town team like the Titans will be able to draw on a multitude of businesses. Under Armour, one of his American gained contracts, have just opened on the Gold Coast as well.

IMO He will be at the Titans for two years max. He will then sign a deal with Fiji and play Rugby at the next World Cup before he embarks on another career move.

Good luck to him but he wasn't ever coming "home".

No matter what marquee player we try and sign, we will have to offer minimum $700k+, but none of them would be a shadow of what Hayne is as a player.

That alone tells you what an insult it was offering Hayne that low ball deal, and why he and his manager both treated it in the way it deserved.

We offered what we wanted to spend, he refused it, as was his right.

I personally wouldn't have wanted them paying more than they offered, even considering how good he is.

Even though Holmes is skilful, from what I've watched of him he seems a bit lazy and not keen to have regular involvement. He is young though

Maybe we're better off with Norman, Semi and one other @ $600K, instead of putting all our eggs in one
bastard ?

Lowball? 2.5 mill for 3 years is a decent deal considering he's been out of the game for 2 years.

Not sure many peeps wanted us to match the Titans offer, let alone go above it. He proved what he's about and the club made the right call IMO.

Yeah, when the club had to be prodded to even put in an offer, and when they did it was a laughable one, they must have realized it was pointless negotiating any longer. I think BA got this one wrong. A mill or so and a promise to use best endeavours to find TPAs might have done the job.
