Just on Lane have we signed him? Zero Tackle don't have him on our additions list but do have Ferguson.

The Ferguson signing I'm undecided about. Is very much a rocks and diamond player. Three clubs wanted him and we offered the most, whatever that is but $500k or more, and want to play him as a centre. So who is going, Mennings or JH? If Mennings we'll have to pay some of the freight but even that might be preferable. However if Ferguson is played as a winger there are better options around. There is a young winger in Maumalo with Warriors that we could get for less than half the price who'll do just as good a job and is more diamonds than rocks.

exactly, was going to say the same think particularly re Beau Scott, it was widely reported he signed for about half of what Gleneel posted

I simply quoted payment reported in DT, yes I know very honest paper, as I thought on $400k as widely reported. But to back them up Max Donnelly has stated that retirement of Scott has freed up a 'substantial' amount on the cap, so that would be much more than $400k.

I know the media are a big part of the problem here, as the Bernster said yesterday in his report, he mentioned the money Junior was signed for was widely exaggerated, and no doubt most others are as well and some times we may never know.

For the record the article I read many moons ago re Beau Scott said he signed for $350K a year and we were the 3rd highest bid and he took the Eels bid only because it gave him good access to Westmead hospital for his daughter.

Also don’t you think $500k (it’s what has been reported so don’t bullshit and say it’s more) for a winger making 200m or so metres a game is pretty fair value?

Don’t think he is cooked, he is still doing some decent stuff (and classy stuff only someone like he could do), but it’s all mixed in with some pretty crappy shit moments.

I reckon it’s an attitude thing, he just isn’t putting 100% effort in at times!!

Obviously not an excuse for a professional player but wonder if something is affecting him away from footy.

Hopefully some time in NSW cup is the wake up call he needs!!
