So many of our players are going worse than last year. Merkins whinging about our 'ageing team' but apart from Scott and Gower (who has probably had his best season), the oldest of the rest of them are only 30 this year. That's not old with modern sports science. Thirty year olds are still at their peak.

And some of the blokes who are worse than last year are a fair bit younger than that:

Auva'a (26)
Brown (25)
Evans (26)
French (22)
Gutherson (24)
King (27)
Moeroa (23)
Moses (24)
Norman (27)

All those players are young enough that they should have been better players this year (King and Norman because they are spine players so they should still be getting smarter, or less dumb anyway). The main reason the pundits tipped us to be a better team in 2018 was because so many of our guys were on the up.

Yet the only blokes who have improved from last year are Alvaro and Gower. Plus Hayne, Williams and Niukore based on lack of footy in 2017.

You have a lovely day Gronk, we lost in the dying seconds but I would argue it was one of our worst performances of the year. We were fantastic against St George and excellent for 30 mins against the Comp favs IMO. But that effort last night was about 6 steps back, they played like a team who don't believe in the game plan or in the coach.

Jennings gets dropped but was straight back in after one game, he was invisible last night and not having a go. you could say that about quite a few players, but it can't be the coach???

Rubbish. They followed the coache’s game plan for 20 mins then they lost their way with dumb errors. Maybe you should watch the match again.

The squad we had when we come last where absalute garbage. Rickys squad and SK squad had nothing.Certainly where not top 8 predictions.
Sk managed 6 wins in 2012 while Ricky had 5. At best we may get 6 wins this season.


Sure some of the floggimgs where worse. But I can see a few coming before season ends. This squad has talent and very good players all over the team. Norman,Moses,Brown all would of been origin hopes before season kicked off. Gutherson, Tepai not completelt out of it and add MJ and Hayne.Its a very good side. Sick of hearing the same of unlucky bullshit.

BA with nothing to play for isn't even going down the lets try some new things to build for 2019. A new style. This is what we should be using the last 7 games for. New attacking plays and having some fun out there. Unsure why we sticking to the same game plan that hasnt worked in games that mean nothing now.
For me I question if its cause he is out of ideas and has no other styles.

They did for 20m. What can he do once they are on the field? These guys are supposed to be professionals are get paid good money to do their job.

It’s a cop out to blame BA or Paul Green or Dean Pay or Trent Barrett or Ivan Cleary.

Yes the buck stops with the coach, but gee these players are not brainless cyborgs whose performance is solely based on the coaches pre-game coding. They are professionals who need to find focus themselves and play every week at the best of their ability.

So if Parra played perfect its only fair to say what if Knights played perfect. Vaves try was embarrasing.Moses was lucky .
Knights still made 9 errors and missing Ponga. Even with him they are one of worse teams in comp. Look at the points differential. We where not playing the storm.
Our squad is as good as Souths or Warriors or Dragons.

Difference for me is this -
Mgregor had a style in mind. Tough and grind. Built a squad to suit it.
Seebold inherited a team. He moulded a style to suit his players strengths.

We have guys like Bevan, Hayne,Mj,Moses,Norman. Yet BA wants to grind. This isn't the style of players if want to grind.
If wanted to grind you buy big strong guys and halves like Pearces style. Not Moses.
You get a hooker like Lichaa etc
With small mobile forwards you dont f**king grind. You play fast expansive footy ffs with lots of offloads

Agreed, hopefully he is now in the top 30 and can get a run for the rest of the year. From all reports he was excellent in the Origin 20's game which is another good sign. Some quality players have starred in those games.
