What about Craig Garvey anyone? Been pretty good for Mounties from what little I've seen. I take not getting game time in Canberra with a grain of salt because Stuart

I reckon that’s shuffling deck chairs with the 3 we have got now. We need a quality 9

He's another Cameron King IMO. Good enough bit part player but maybe not what you want in NRL week to week without a quality hooker alongside him
I'm going the Hindy/Rammy root here. I saw Garvey play for Dogs and thought he was ok player, the same as I thought about Cook, therefore he'll be an Origin rep. But seriously from times I've seen him I've thought he's pretty good and if it's an option between the devil you know and Garvey then it's bye bye King & Kaysa

I reckon he's pretty good too, but three NRL clubs have only seen fit to give 23 matches since 2013 so he's not particularly likely to kick on IMO.

Cook has played 65 games in the same time.

You think we are going to jump from 16th to 5th or better ? May I ask how? We are poorly coached with too many players going backwards. Even adding Paulo and Lane doesn’t improve us that much

I reckon our teams given up a lot.
Had we been fully fit start of season and more luck.Hayne,Brown,Gutherson. Thats 3 big names.
We do not lose anyone really and we add Jnr and Fergo.
I couldn't imagine Moses,Norman and Mj playing as poor. Same goes for French.
Mahoney plus a few other jnrs should improve the squad.
And I am sure an attacking coach will come in if BA isn't fired.

If we where being smacked by 30 I'd be worried. 10 points a game can be reversed with what I have mentioned.

Well in my goodness order these a hookers off contract:
Smith - f**khead & won't leave Melbourne
Luke - reportedly asking big bickies, I doubt he goes to another NRL club
Segeyaro - supposedly a no from him
Korisau - already resigned with Manly? Good for a couple of Dally M points though
Farah - I guess if we get rid of Norman...
Cherrington - the next best of a very meh bunch that are not really much better than Kaysa

I reckon Mahoney is our starting hooker next year but being a rookie he'll definitely need back up. Do you stick with Kaysa or go someone else? Probably comes down to dollars I suppose

Actually 10 of our losses have been by 10 points or less.
We need to find 12 more points in games and we would be on 30 points.Or top of table.

I'd be chasing Matt Parcell hard. Maybe we are, even, he's certainly been mentioned.

Was good for Manly and I was surprised they let him go. Killing it in England and would almost certainly come home given he's only 25.

Mahoney on the bench, King/Kaysa at Wenty (whomever will take the lower deal) because they are both handy backups.

TBF to Garvey he at least had some ok hookers in front of him, including Cook

Yeah at times he has.

At times he's had Siliva Havili, Mitch Rein, Shane Pumipi, and Heath L'Estrange.

I just think you need a better hooker to start with, and I'd go the other way and suggest that if a guy like Garvey is the best thing on the market that is likely, you may as well just keep Kaysa who has shown the ability to have a stormer at NRL level and might be able to reach that kind of level with a good run of fitness.

I think Garvey is one of those guys who is too good for NSW Cup but not quite good enough to be a good NRL player. And he's the same age as Parcell and a year older than Pritchard

On the rumoured Lamb signing. I know he is young and can improve, but from what I have seen of him, he is at best going to be average in the long term. So far when it has counted he has not had the skills or mentality rather, to turn games. I know he is young as I have already stated, but his body language and presents is very poor in the moment of a game that counts and we can only go with what he has produced so far.

Who I have a great feeling for after having watched him for the very first time last night is Lachlan Lewis. But I must admit that it is from the tiniest of sample sizes that I make this call on, which is just the one game last night against us. Like I have mentioned here before, I haven't been watching the footy much at all this season, since I am so freakin pissed at Parra again for another crappy year. First time ever I have basically given the footy the flick. But anyway, getting back to Lewis.

Even though I don't really have that much to go by, his first 30 mins or so were exceptional the way he controlled the game. After that, fatigue set in and he was noticeably much less dominating and influential. Dare I say it, thank God, or if he was a season hardened player, I feel he would of taken us to the cleaners with the mood he was in. He also was very busy in defense and isn't afraid to tackle.

So if that first 30 odd is his normal standard of play, then this guy will be a very good player. If we are really looking to add to our playmaking roster, then I for one would be looking at this guy very closely. He is off contract next year and behind Foran and a few others, so it wouldn't be all that hard to entice him here I wouldn't think.

We are a club on the way up, a roster that is being strengthened, a brand new stadium the envy of all in Sydney, and opportunity to play alongside better players from next year, not in 3 or 4 years time as the Dogs are in strife for a few more years.

Yes I know, one game, I get it, but maybe others here know more about how good he has been coming through when he was at Canberra and in the lower grades at the Dogs. What I do know is that I have never seen Lamb come close to Lewis's demeanour, presence, style and quality overall in all the games I have seen of him compared to the 1 game I saw of Lewis last night. Maybe he has inherited some of his uncles qualities. Who knows?

Us signing players on how well they played against us in 1 game has always ALWAYS got us into trouble

I didn't say we sign him on that one performance, especially given it was against us, who never consistently know how to put pressure on the oppositions 6 and 7, but I sure as hell would keep an eye on him and ask around about his personality, attitude and what his performances have been like in the lower grades. Is he a dominating type of playmaker normally, cos that is what he came off like last night? Is he a big talker on the field? And so forth. Body langues was brilliant.

One to keep an eye on for sure.
