Build the incentives correctly and he could well turn into a bargain. He makes x if he performs. If he doesn't well he cost us the base and that's it.

Also allow Gutherson a further twelve months to work alongside Benji before a full time move in to the halves which I think he would do well at. Meanwhile he plays fullback and let's French mature further without added expectation.

We know how that turned out.Of we wanted penrith kids they have a gun under 20s centre and the jennings boys.I hear all signed for souths.
Wil Smith is to light and a huge liabliity in defense.He is not safe enough for fulback.
Id imagine his signing would be depth and back up from Wenty. He is quick on feet.And we do need a fullback for wenty. I guess he also can play halves.

Benji is almost had it but if he did come and was given a simple role he would perhaps be ok. His attacking skills are still a lot better then Robsons and so is his kicking game.So depends on cost.

You're putting the onus on him to deliver wins, which means he plays his hero-ball style, which is where he is at his worst.

It'd be more like
Here is a base salary ($300k)
For every pass that goes over the sideline without someone touching it -$5k
For every time you run it on the 5th tackle -$5k
For every time you kick it out on the full OR fail to find touch from a penalty -$5k
