Toovey has been quoted as saying that he would. I’ll try and dig it up. Griffin was about to start a gig with a QLD state side before Gould hired him and Barrett may not have a choice if he doesn’t get the Panthers’ job.

Apparently Barrett is going to Canberra as assistant coach to Sticky. Once Sticky moves to GM role Barrett will take head coach gig in 2020..

I agreed that more money needed to be spent but was skeptical of my (and other's) observations as there wasn't a definite confirmation and after all we're just fans. But now as there's a definite confirmation then I can take it as gospel that there wasn't enough money spent on the footballing department.


I reckon maybe if you read back on your sentence you'd probably see why you were called a deathrider, you're already giving a negative nickname to a staff member before they've even had time to implement or do anything. It's probably not so much the message but the words used to convey it? Or unless you like being called a deathrider and whinger in which case keep using the same language I guess.

He went to Souths because Arthur kept him in the dark nearly right up to the point where his contract was due to expire. Then he received an offer from Souths. Meanwhile they extended Murphy first even though Gentle was the senior assistant. This to me smells like Arthur thinking he could take more on which backfired spectacularly.

Last i saw and heard Grima was still on board. He and Kidwell were both in Darwin.

It does seem that’s Avenger has a moderate dislike for BA.

I mean, not as bad as Delboy’s feelings on Daniel Anderson, but still.

BA is a good man with a tremendous work ethic but he in my opinion is stale and needs to go.

He may have become stale, but I think an injection of new ideas from some assistant coaches would benefit the team more than just getting rid of BA.
I think he still has more to offer the club. The players seem to love him, and he is a proper Parra man. He led us through an incredibly difficult time and deserves to see out his contract...with some much needed help, IMO.

Like having a similar number of staff to most other NRL clubs (and them having clear areas of responsibility).

Absolutely.
You can’t expect one man to take care of it all (well, two men now that Kidwell is there).
More staff means more ideas coming into the club. Less work for others. Specialist halves coaches, attack coaches, defence coaches, wrestling coaches, fitness and speed coaches, medical staff...all overseen by BA.
This is the way is is supposed to be. I’m not sure how many of these staff we are missing at the moment, but I bet it’s too many.

This could be the case and should be the path if the right alternative could not be found. However we as the mentally weak club that we are do not need the distraction of what to do with him in 2019, not when you have just landed the spoon.

I just think that him being such a man’s man and being loyal to his players has led to some of those same delinquents running riot and letting him down. And you know who I am talking about. It’s just a shame nobody wants the knob(s).
