The people that stopped Twal playing first grade for the Eels were Mannah/Alvaro/Vave/Matagi/Ma'u/Edwards/Gower/ Brown/Moeroa/TEREPO/Scott/O'Brien/Fritchard

How dare they!!
I guess the alternate view is our ability to recognise future NRL players. It was fairly obvious Vae, Matagi, O'Brien and Frichard wernt up to it. Well obvious to most. Add to that, Scott and Gower were reaching their use by date. We then had Edwards who was one brain snap from being punted which eventually happened. Teps and Mau are mostly edge players. Mannahs age is getting up there as well. So that leaves Alvaro, Terepo and Brown for the future. Two of which are pigmys.
I guess the thinking was that better kids were coming through. But since then we have purchased Paulo and Evans and have been connected with every front rower in the game.
Its all too confusing for this old bloke in the home.

LOL...at the old bloke comment.

The ones I listed are the ones that played last year and got us to 4th position on the table. Not sure how else we could have handled an under-contracted Twal. He obviously approached us to leave and short of dropping one of the above, he was excess to needs at the time.

EDIT: and we did drop O'Brien who played 2 games about 3 months before Twal left.

Last season aged me greatly mate.
Yeah Im not too sure how much Twal will hurt us. Maybe, maybe not. Interesting how The Tigpies trotted him out immediately and Freddie loved him playing for The Cucumbers .
I have a gut feel Keppie will be a goodun though. A couple of interesting comments that he would now prefer to stay and also from a couple of posters who are very familiar with lower grades that he would have most definitely made ISP if he hadnt signed elsewhere. The thing I really like about Twal and Keppie is their motors. In these days of ever reducing interchange, props who could potentially play 80 mins and compete the whole time are worth their weight in gold.

Has anyone here got the tea on these two? Steve Cummins and Will Skelton. Were they up to in or not good enough for future NRL players? They certainly have made it in the 15 side game.

Is it just another example of we not looking after the best coming through again?

Skelton is physically built for Union 2nd row ('lock'). He is 140kg and 6'8 (2.04 metres). It would be very rare for a bloke like that to be sufficiently mobile to succeed in league.

According to that article Skelton wanted to play RU since his cousin debuted for the All Blacks. Skelton was 10 years of age when that happened so despite him playing junior league, not sure he was ever a chance of sticking with league.

Despite that I am sure we would have signed him up except for our shit talent spotters.

On 360 tonight James Hooper announced that Klemmer in not entirely happy at the Dogs and how things have panned out over there this last season and he is not completely convinced that Klemmer will be at the club by the end of the off season.

WOW!!!...and if that is true and we don't try and move heaven and earth to try and right a wrong and bring him home then we have learnt anything about what it takes up front to win a premiership.

Anything around the 800-900k is he is worth it. Especially when we finally get rid of the excesses that we currently have in in players like Mannah, Evens and Moreoa.

Just asking. What is Mannah costing us in dollars these days?

TLDR?
Slight rumour and journo opinion about Klemmer being unhappy, turned into whinge about club
