Strange though that when he finally saw that average to small forwards don't and can't win the ruck consistently, over a full season, yes even in 2017, Semi, a favourable draw and less injuries saved our bacon, he then scores 2 big forwards and the best metre eater winger in the comp all in a period of about 3-4 months.

Coincidence? I think not. So don't crap on that we can't get quality big powerful players to our club. Where there's a will there's a way and yes LEGALLY. But he still doesn't get it totally if you ask me, otherwise he would be looking to offload more of our average players and fighting tooth and nail to get more quality size into the team. But who really know, he might be doing just that. Time will tell.

Dont under estimate Auvau and Taka in the back 5. Both had very strong carries. Like forwards. Actually both more powerfull than most our forwards.
Now replace Semi Auvau Taka with
French Hayne and Young Jennings.
Sure Haynes skillfull but he doesnt run like the other 3 and lacks there grunt of their charges

Quite correct in there being reasons for a drop in sponsor interest. I know 3 businesses that withdrew over the problems with the previous governance, they have said they did not want their names associated with almost criminal accusations.
Although relatively small they totalled $350k per season. I guess that could be mutiplied as they wouldn’t be alone.
As Gazza suggested, someone needs to be on the front foot with the new stadium and an opportunity to refresh. Unfortunately, we are hearing nothing, if that’s a function of the review then get it out and get busy.
It’s astonishing that a club with the second biggest NSW membership is lacking in providing updates and news.
Look at what Nathan Ryan is doing for the Knights, we are not on the same ballpark. Over to you Mr Gurr.

The twitterverse reckons that Mennings, French, Taka, Norman and Moses have all been told they can leave.

All plausible, however I doubt that we would let both our halves go. One and not the other ?
The same place reckons that James Tamou to Canberra, Trent Merrin to Newcastle and Tyrone Peachey to Eels or Tigers.

I know what im referring too Poo. Sponsorships for club and players done within the NRL rules. If we cant secure sufficient get people who can.
No excuses.
Yep. Clean out the front of house and fill it with better administrators that are more entrepreneurial and business savvy. Until we do that we can’t expect to compete with the best teams when it comes to recruitment.

Gurr has been a massive disappointment, the Sterlo curse strikes again.

Hayne and Gennings both averaged more run metres in 2018 then KA and Taka averaged in 2017 (with around the same average runs)

Have to believe it’s easier to look good with the influence and finances provided by Uncle Nick and his media mates. We definitely needed a rebuild, not an easy job given what happened, but we hear so little that it’s easy to be fearful

He just don’t seem to be proactive enough, as you say we need to be on the front foot flogging the team and the new stadium but absolutely nothing.

I think you could argue that culture has more of a long term impact on performance and results. Pou could be right and this year was an outlier, or it could be that 2017 and to a lesser extent 2016 were the outliers.

Yes I agree!

I don't know if we have a 'good or bad culture' at the club. From (the veey limited) impression I got, the winds of change blew through with Foran leaving. Surprised at a few things this year, but none have been tolerated so I don't know what to make of all that?

I sometimes wonder if our back to back 40 degree games tp start the season pretty well killed us? Didn't both Pwnrith and Manly put in very flat results the following weeks?
(Blew it week 1. Drained from the heat and got belted week 2. Drained from the heat and lost week 3. Behind the 8 ball and playing catchup and then losing too many close games)

No idea? But is it plausible?

So I gather then that you think poor culture doesn’t have much effect on team performance/results. I disagree.

So then you think we have had a pretty good culture at the club since Ricky went?
Results improving every year despite shocking setbacks?

And then magically all that good culture evaporated this year?? So who brought the bad culture in? Was it Evans or Williams?? I'm not sure we had anyone else play FG new to the club??

Damn them and their ability to change the entire clubs culture in 2 months.... :joy::joy::joy:
