Some interesting stats from this season courtesy of TCT. Eels used more players than any other team (31). Also, we had 12 players who didn't see more than 10 games ( Auva'a, Edwards, Evans, Hoffman, Kaufusi, Mahoney, Matagi, Pritchard, Salmon, Scott, Stone and Williams) and only 3 players played more than 20 ( Norman, Moses and Mennings). There's a lot more but I find these stats interesting . Our worst backs (apart from French) played the most games. The forwards were a mishmash of poor form, injuries and debutantes.

Yeah we start the year crap and it was a poor year. But I suspect (wouId have to go back and check) that each time we started to head in the right direct and build on a few positive games we occurred an significant injury. Like Moses injures, Brown, Pritchard, Hayne etc etc we just couldnt build any combos. I don’t think we had Gutho/Hayne play together for a good part of the start of the year. T-rex starts to give us something on the edge then is injured. Edwards sacked. How many spine combos did we use?

We did have our top 2 halves most the season. Just chose not to play em together in the halves for quite a few games .... the problem was more they were kinda shit

I'd say it's as simple as injury-prone players being less in demand from the big clubs, so we get them cheap, or at least don't have to pay overs.

I met 3 new people on my Sunday out .The first person I met was from NZ.
Interesting lady. Lesbian in her 50s. Drove me too Redfern.
Next person I met was from India. We shared a few good laugh as I ventured to Glebe.
Then I got talking to this uni student. And he dropped me off at Newtown. He was just doing Uber driving part time.....

I am thinking of doing a show. I interview UBER drivers. Not only is it good compa y its also very fun.

I agree our attack was poor (to sideways) and our compressed defence didn’t work like last year on the edges. However our recruits will help with attack along with changes to our structure

Not sure what can be done with the injuries

Hayne and Gennings both averaged more run metres in 2018 then KA and Taka averaged in 2017 (with around the same average runs)

Different styles. Hayne are more dangerous but less effective as a general hit up. His runs are wasted as a general hit up. Id rather hik get a run when there is some space.

We have one of, if not the best hit up merchant coming out of trouble joining us next year in Fergo. Him, Gennings and Hayne will be fine starting our sets.

I don’t think we’ve had a great culture at the club for several years. We haven’t improved every year since Ricky left so don’t know what you are talking about there.

We had 5 wins under Ricky. Improved each year to 16 last year (4th year of improving results). So by YOUR definition we must have had an improving culture - to top 4 standard.

You don't know if we have a bad culture. The only evidence you have is your opinion. The empirical evidence you provide is one bad season. And your overlook 4 years of counter evidence because it doesn't support your narrative.

Maybe but Climate change would be affecting every club. Everyone plays under the same amount of heat and Sun for the first month of the season.

By that logic, QLD teams should either never win in Sydney in July as it's way colder.

So every team played back to back on 40 degree days?

Do you have evidence? I'll propose that only Parra played the first 2 rounds in that extreme heat.

Serious question: Do you exercise? Do a hefty workout in 40 degree heat and tell me it doesn't sap you.

Also, training in warmth and playing in cold is advantageous until the cold gets to extreme (sub 0) levels. The only place that really happens is Canberra (occasionally), and they have a decent record under the conditions don't they??

Most our roster is full.
We have a decent squad
We have a new stadium

I am getting behind my team and excited about 2019. If its round 10 and we have less then 3 wins then I will become disgruntled but not before then.
