The fossilised turtle should be given a one way ticket to the Galápagos Islands.
Any marine biologist worth their salt would know you were referencing the Galapagos Islands tortoise. If we're talking turtles then reference the Mon Repos loggerhead turtle. They have a lifespan of around 60 years, hardly a chance of fossilisation to have occurred in this instance.

Yeah, but I'm not worth my salt.

Yes I agree!

I don't know if we have a 'good or bad culture' at the club. From (the veey limited) impression I got, the winds of change blew through with Foran leaving. Surprised at a few things this year, but none have been tolerated so I don't know what to make of all that?

I sometimes wonder if our back to back 40 degree games tp start the season pretty well killed us? Didn't both Pwnrith and Manly put in very flat results the following weeks?
(Blew it week 1. Drained from the heat and got belted week 2. Drained from the heat and lost week 3. Behind the 8 ball and playing catchup and then losing too many close games)

No idea? But is it plausible?
Nope. We were just shit all year. From the moment we let Penrith off the hook in round 1 we showed our true colours for 2018. We were all over the Panthers for much of the first half but as soon as they got a sniff, we folded like a portable picnic table. Manly has us beat after 15 minutes in round 2. We should have been in that game until half time but we all knew there was no return after the 20 minute mark. After that, we made up the numbers in the comp, and that was totally evident until the very last game. No reply when things got tough, poor attack and even worse defence for a whole season can't be attributed to those two games.

I won't have that. I think the manner of our folding was more like that of a damp beer coaster being prepared for use to stop a bar table from wobbling. Picnic tables fold in an organised manner and can be quickly returned to functionality.

You blokes really don't think through your similes.

What's the saying "doing the same thing and expecting a different result, is the first sign of madness "

Oh well, move on
And if you know anything about troubleshooting, it's that isolating a problem can only be done by changing one thing at a time.

This statement has flaws. Flip a coin. Tell me what you get. Do the same thing 10 times. Tell me what you get.
That's right. Proper analysis will tell us that flipping a coin results in heads half the time and tails the other half. Some of these dopes think that the result of a coin toss will be whatever it was last time they saw it done.

What you get is a 50/50 chance of flipping either heads or tails each time you flip it. If you do the same for another 10 times you get a 50/50 chance of flipping either heads or tails each time you flip it.

I am referring to culture at the whole joint, both on and off the field.

As far as the off field culture being shit some teams can probably get away with it more than others because they have strong leadership both on and off field. We don't.
And we are targeted fairly/unfairly by the media for every action or indiscretion

I know things are tough and I get pissed off too at this basket case of a club but after a few cans on the couch let me say this.

This club drives me mad, but there is a certain romance in our uniquivical passion. Hater or hugger who cares.

How good is footy, how good is the hope of a better season. Life is good friends! I look forward to the offseason screaming.

Much love,
Stevie

If that is in fact the case, why the hell did we contract a merkin to conduct the club’s review whose whole philosophy is essentially building and improving culture to improve performance?

“Shane McCurry is a thought leader in dynamic settings across industries including high performance sport, corporate, government and education. Shane’s foundation philosophy is that all individuals, teams & organisations have the capacity to improve, and can reach their full potential through an “elevation” focus on progress, story, connection, wellbeing and reflection (and this is true for our work and personal lives!). As a consultant, coach and facilitator, Shane's thought leadership practice inspires change, growth and progress by supporting leaders and teams to enhance Culture, Leadership, Wellbeing & Performance.”

Because we are a basket case who hire all the worst people?
