" Half our games" LOL.
This is what we've come to expect from the mediocrity supporter pau pau, giving credit to just being average. Honestly, talk about accepting just being average lol.
Comprehension isn’t your strong suit is it?
Pou was saying 50% is the point at which hiring/firing meets. I tend to agree with what you’ll argue, that it should be higher, but also conservatism will bring that number down. It also won’t be an arbitrary decision based on wins.
Pou wasn’t saying that 50% wins means automatically resigning BA

There is a difference between recognising and accepting. You should try it some time, it might help you deal with some of your angst.

The top 8 showed the difference between 1st and 8th. A game or two.
Winning comp for teams like Panthers and Saints was harder due to injuries.
Same goes for Brisbane.

It would of been a disaster if we made the 8 this year and had
Manu,Terepo,Brown,Alvaro all missing for finals.

While BA is learning 2018 was not all his fault. I dont blame the board.
I blame poor tactics, unluck, bad draw and injuries. Along with players out of form. This happens.
Look at Sam Burgess in finals. He was dreadfull. Couldn't hold the ball.
But other guys had career best years. Lets see them back it up. I like the odds that they wont.

There’s still a long way between now and round 1 kickoff. As it currently stands, I think equal 12th is a pretty fair assessment of our squad next year. However, should we release one of our established halves and possibly Jennings and don’t replace them with anyone of note (ie. replace them from within the roster) I can see us drifting in the markets...and rightly so. Let’s hope Hayne re-signs and BA has the sense to play him at fullback because a potential spine of:

1. French
6. Salmon
7. Norman/Moses
9. Mahoney

has wooden spoon written all over it.

Considering the worse side is 26-1 i dare say those odds will be adjusted.

There will be 4 sides with no chance of winning it. And they should start over 40-1 and even then it is a waste of cash.

Eels are a chance to win it. They have enough individual talent.

Tigers,Dogs,Manly, knights are no chance at all.

Are you talking about the spoon or the premiership?

Well BA has already said that Hayne will play No.1 next year if he re-signs (which it seems he will).

So moot point really.

I agree, and our block play wasn’t good this year. It was terrible!!

BA definitely needs to fix up our attacking structure.

Regarding halves / hooker running more, this has a lot to do with not having a real “big body) in the middle or threats on the edge, to give them room to run. Paulo will help with this in the middle (Evans was very underwhelming this year, hopefully he can improve). While on the Moeroa is improving while Manu started the year slowly, Taka didn’t perform, t-rex was injured and Lane will hopefully provide another option on the edge.

Also I reckon Hayne and Gutho’s injuries didn’t help our attack hopefully they are injury free next year.

Interestingly Mahoney (4 runs for 32 m) is already averaging more run metres then Seggy (3 runs for 32 m). Yeah seggy is making more per run but you also need to factor in seggy is more experienced and playing behind a better pack.
Moeroa only started once this year (I think) at prop and played probably his best game imo. With Lane and Ma'u/Faingaa as SR maybe Moeroa will/could be a middle next year.

Seggy is dynamic but played a lot less minutes than Mahoney. However I doubt we'll get Seggy but would love him here, he could teach Mahoney a few things also. But quicker PTB and more running from dh is a good tactic to use against a retreating defence.

Given the fact that we will probably not play many Home Games in the first 6 to 8 weeks that you'd have to imagine we will get a good idea of whether the coach will be around in 2020 fairly early on.

He's certainly up against at this stage.

So if we are spoon favourites next year is it the worst squad?
Nothing is ever as good or as bad as idiots think.

Us and the Cowboys had bad luck this year. The Roosters and Dragons had good luck. The only club that doesn’t need luck seems to be the Storm. But I’d say they were unlucky in the sense that if they played that grand final another nine times they would probably win at least five of them.

Doesnt that point to poor coaching then???
It might. The thing is, we have quite obviously seen very good coaching from Arthur’s as well. Did he forget how to coach this year? Far more likely is he lost a significant part of the dressing room, and he is now trying to get rid of those deadshits.

Not on its own.

Poor coaching, poor player performance and problems with the front of house have all played a role in delivering the 2018 shit sandwich.
Who has said it’s just the coach, it’s every merkin involved with the club from top to bottom. But we’ve had a review now so everything will be sweet.

So Eels aren’t one of the bigger clubs with resources??? So the Sharks are a bigger club than us with more resources??? I call bullshit, having a quality coach with people in charge with a club is a big help.
Those ‘people in charge’ are part of those resources. I’m not talking about coaches, I’m talking about people Politis and whomever runs the Sharks. Flanagan or Robinson wouldn’t do any better than Arthur at our club.

Deadshits he brought to the club or re-signed.

My opinion only, and take it for what it's worth. Compared to the other 15 clubs we have been a laughing stock from the front office down for some time now......no surprise there. If the front office finally gets their act together then we can expect far greater results. BA has made mistakes and has been glaringly shown up for those mistakes. In the end, BA has 2019 on his contract.......period. We can either all get behind him or white-ant (deathrider) him as coach. After that.....anybody's guess.
Think only his results will white ant him, not us.

But what if team makes the 8 but we are boring as shit to watch (like this year), will that affect his contract extension or not.
