But if he has a development contract then yes, it's to play rugby league. Not necessarily NRL. From my understanding of your argument, any contract would be a restraint of trade if someone offers you a better deal. Don't all contracts limit your employment options in any field?

I have a current contract and if someone offered me a better deal and my current organisation I have a contract with refused to release me from my contract and I challenged this in the courts indicating that it was a restraint of trade, then I'm sure I'd win.

Having said that, my actual current contract can be terminated by either party for any reason with one hours notice, so it's a bit of a mute point.

No idea, but recently Klemmer, Napa and Johnston have changed clubs so there’s a chance someone under contract could become available.......

Why would you think the details of this would be publicly available? For all we know this happens in every case where a player signs elsewhere with a year to run on his deal.

Because Managers would leak it to the media, in the same way that they leak everything else to do with players negotiations.

But you are claiming everyone knew Foran had issues, however even Toovey didn’t know a lot, as if he knew how bad they were, that they would make him incapable of playing footy then I doubt Toovey wouId have tried to re-sign him.

We’ve won consecutive games against strong packs plenty of times in recent years.

The fact we didn’t do it in the finals doesn’t mean we couldn’t. If you flip a coin twice and get tails both times you’d be a f**ken idiot to think there’s something wrong with the coin.

As it happens, the Storm and Cowboys spend a lot more on players than we do. O you’d expect them to win more than half the time anyway. That’s not the fault of our forwards.

Exactly. We’re trying to release one of them and we don’t care which. So of course we’ve shopped both around.

Ignoring the notice period and any other release clauses, in what country are you living that the courts will grant you release without recompense from a binding contract because you received a better offer?

But they also care about their players’ reputations, so when it doesn’t eventuate they come out with ‘Rumours my player wants out are completely false. He will see out his current contract.’ Read betwee the lines with these merkins.

One of the main reasons we improved so much in 2016 was replacing Sandow with Foran in the defensive line. Replacing Sandow with Maloney wouldn’t have done much for our defence.

He's being singled out because I was replying to a comment that said a combination of he and Johnson would be good. I disagree as I don't believe Moses can work with halves who are equal to him. It's maybe why the tigers had a worse record when he and Brooks were playing together than when one was out for one reason or another.

Also after only 1 pre-season with the club all of a sudden there's talk of disharmony in the team, we come last, our attack (that he was supposed to lead around) looked disjointed. It's also a terrible look that 18 months after we signed him we're apparently allowing him to talk to other clubs about a possible release mid-contract.

There's many more factors to why we came last and it's stupid to "single out" a player, coach, staff, or refereeing decision but I believe that Moses is one of the factors as to why we played poorly last season.

I put the blame squarely at Hayne's feet.

My mail (just confirmed) is that we have Dylan Brown locked up under contract until the end of 2020.
Warriors can identify all they want, they cannot have him unless we say so.

Since when do contracts assure a player remains at a club until its end? As we've seen this year and probably every other year for ages it doesn't. Brown would be mad to turn it down if true and you can't blame him. Huge risk by Warriors, and by us if we follow suit. Could be our best junior half since Tim Smith but he could be at another club.
