On NRL.com they are saying we have released Norman from the final year of his contract, does that mean we don’t have to pay him anything to play for the Saints???

No ... just means something was negotiated ... we have to pay him at least 1.5 months salary

I remember Tepai being touted as a future rep player. As each year goes by, He seems to be becoming less and less of a rep player. He really needs a breakout year. I also remember Kelepi being an absolute beast. Then he went to the cowboys. Where I thought he’d eventually play for Australia. I don’t know what went wrong. The guy can’t even crack into reserve grade anymore. Anyone know of what was going on behind the scenes with him?

Yeah I know we have had to pay him till now, but if he is on 940k and we have already paid 150k that still leaves 790k. The Dragons were only offering 500k or so so that leaves over 200k to make up. If he has been released i don’t think we have to pay him any more which means more free coin.

NRL forwards his size need a better work rate or more skill.

Either way we will welcome young Brown into the top 30.

The fact is we're not going to know how much free cap space we already have or will have after Norman leaves. But we can assume that if we're bringing Dylan Brown or anyone else into the top 30 they will be getting an upgrade.

We just won't know how much, so why death-ride?

Because players 'on the brink of playing rep footy' are competing with 20 or 30 merkins for only a couple of spots. Of course those spots go to players in consistently good teams, like Gavin Cooper or Will Chambers.

I read that we r only paying his salary for the year so far, about 160k and the dragqueens will pay reported 600k first yr and up his salary for the next 2

Norman would of played rep footy whilst playing for Parra if he didnt have Cronk and Thurston playing at the time. Its probably his time now.

I think people need to be carefull with edge players in under 20s when they are just bigger and stronger and more developed then the other kids.. He was only ever 180cm so would always be a small prop if couldn't make it outside. And he just wasn't mobile enough for the edge.
I seen Kelepi a few times at NSW cup level. His hits where brutal but he was quite slow to get up and it was a time where Alvaro and Gower played. Kelepi power stood out over them but their class was noticeable as to good for this grade.

At first grade level Kelepi power wouldnt be as much as an asset.

Tepai is 23. Tariq sims was also talked about as a star. He didnt realy make a big name till this year. He is 28. De bellin was always looking ok. No better then Tepai untill this season and become a rep. He is 27.
Tepai is doing fine. In a better side he porb would be talked about as a very good player. I think now is about time he will start to overtake a lot of you average nrl 2nd rowers and catch up with some of the more elite guys.
