Wrong. There's a panel that includes the head coach, CEO, HoF, head of recruitment that has a say. I reckon the two biggest influences on who we target would be the head coach and HoF (Mark O'Neill).

Why wouldn't you want BA involved in the recruitment process. Is this just another one of those "aRtHuR iS tHe WoRsT tHiNg ThAt'S hApPeNEd To ThE cLuB" things? He's identified some very good players that have brought something to the club. Not all of them have turned out but the things merkins complain about is contract length and salary which is negotiated by the administrative staff. Obviously BA isn't experienced in that part of contract negotiations so we've brought in someone who is.

Chill out, mate. It's a forum. Which means that we should be able to give opinions without having our heads cut off. Look, If your saying that the two biggest influences are the coach and the HOF, well, we only just got the HOF very recently. The reason I wouldn't want BA too involved this year is because I think this will be his last year. And this isn't just a case of knocking BA. I think he's done a lot of good things. He kept the team together during the salary cap crisis; and he reinstated a harder work ethic into the team for a while. There are a lot of things I dont like about him as a coach, but as a man I think he's probably one of the best you'd ever want to meet. I guess I've gone overboard in my critisisms of him this year, and of the club, perhaps, but I trully believe it's time for a change. As I've said before, history will probably be kind to BA, and he can be very proud of a lot of the things he did here.

I think he is a good man too but he doesn’t come across as very articulate and it is reflected in his coaching.

Besides recruitment, re-signings, tactics, team selections, and his awful use of the bench which is more associated with coaching nouse than being articulate his post-match interviews are some of the most boring cliched crap I've ever heard.

Recently in an interview, he used the term 'building relationships' (an obvious new buzzword which we are adopting) about 10 times in an interview because he wasn't bright enough to use synonyms. By his own admission, the players were getting sick of his voice in 2018 which would be further exacerbated by saying the same old shit again.

His loyalty was inspiring during the salary cap debacle but his time is just about up. I see similar parallels to Terry Fearnley (despite him being a superior coach to BA) in the 1970s when he was replaced by Peard and later the great Jack Gibson even though there is nobody like Gibson available or ever will be unless Bellamy decides to come over.

Gary, why do you persist with asking questions? Avenger has made a statement that you obviously have issues with, and no matter what his response is, I’m not sure you’ll change your tune.
I know you like to make unchallenged statements but I’m sure @Avenger will be happy to explain the statement.

I am genuinely interested in what he meant and there is absolutely zero issue in me asking him about it.

Now go and have a delongi coffee and sort yourself out or Santa will skip the IFR33K household.

Thanks mate. Good answer.

You could teach some others on here a thing or two.

I've explained myself. Let us see how we go. Merry Xmas.

Sarcastic, passive-aggressive.
I was being serious.

The suggestion that because BA is inarticulate he says the same shit and the players therefore switch off made sense.

If you’d come back with a explanation that didn’t make sense to me I would have said so.

Some people are far too sensitive and don’t feel the need to explain generalisations but I’ve always felt like you are happy to expand on your views.

It makes for a much more engaging forum than a one-sided whinge fest.

Rugby league isn't that complex a game. I reckon there a homeless chess players who would be smarter tactically then most NRL coaches but who would you prefer coaching a team?
If Hoffman doesnt drop ball over line against panthers we win.
If Jennings doesnt against Brisbane we win.
We did same against Dogs.
If Moses lands his kick we go golden point against Sharks.
If will Smith does not do silly kick we beat dragons.
If Bevan was 1 inch taller he scores and we beat Knights.
And I am unsure how we blew it against Souths.

How does a better coach change this ?
Throw in injuries and no home ground.
Plenty of reason to believe 2019 will be better

Sorry Gaz, it came across as sarcastic. I'm confused because you usually are.
