No legal expert but considering Doorey wasn’t 18 when the “letter of intend” was signed (have to be 18 to enter into a legal contract) and as per your info he didn’t even “willing” enter into the contract, surely it wouId have been easy for him to stay if he really wanted to.

Yes I am sure that he could have stood his ground, however how many teenagers have the gumption to do that ? I am sure that his manager spun a story of opportunity at the Dogs vs stiff competition at the Eels. Managers are turds and seem to all wear teflon suits. What ever happened to the merkin who (allegedly) forged Fui's signature ? If you or I did that in life we could face jail time.

EDIT: Link to LU post regarding Fui forgery allegation.

Depends how stringent the agency agreement is. Probably not too difficult to exit the contract still, especially if you could prove the agent didn't enter it in good faith, but not necessarily and is it worth the effort

Unfortunately I think you're right. With the right tactics he'd be dynamic and provides the X factor with his speed but BA has f**ked him imo. I'd have him starting with Gutho at centre which is his best position I reckon but BA will have Gutho at fb and Salmon at centre. Still yet to be convinced by Salmon that he'll become a genuine first grader but time will tell.

Now over to Pou who will argue one way or another for 50 rounds.
Actually I think I’ll bite with this one. I can’t see French cracking our first grade side and it would be in everyone’s best interests if he found another opportunity.

I think he is starting fullback on Friday night. What if you burns them ? TBH as much as I have been critical of him, if we don't desperately need his contract coin for 2019, I see no reason to release him now.

Even if he does have a blinder, It still won’t convince me he is up to playing week in week out consistently at fullback in first grade. It’s the top 30 spot that’s most important.

While French probably won’t be in our starting 17 in round 1, we need him in the squad now with Norman gone.

If we lose one of halves good chance gutho is moved into the halves with French in the 1.

Unless we sign another half or fullback, French is probably going to see out the year I reckon.

You are 100% right and we all know what happens to 18/19 yo kids who debut in FG. Quite often the coach gives them a week off or a game in reggies so that they don't burn out or bust something.

Fair point. Could be worth making some enquires to the Panthers who seem to have plenty of outside backs.

Kerrrect. Plus I feel like it is likely the Mennings won't be with us next year which possibly opens up a centre spot for Gutho leaving fullback free again. A little bit of patience from both parties is what's needed here.

Why are so many people intent on Guth playing centre? Are you forgetting how good he was back there in 2017? His communication skills are better now than they were then, he's still fitter than anyone else, he has really good playmaking skills.

Yeah I have to agree. Gutho’s best season to date was when he played fullback. Can’t even remember if he had any standout games at centre. Whether he could recapture that form of 2017 is another question altogether.

Id rather release Hoffman. If gutherson is injured or MJ we look thin at fullback and or centre.

Agree. He was top 5 fullback in game.

For me, it's because I have a soft spot for Bevan as a junior who has come through the ranks. At his best he's exciting and well good enough for first grade, but I agree that he really only is a fullback. What it comes down to is that I wish they were both in the team.

When all is said and done, if Bev doesn't come up to scratch then so be it.

On Haze Dunster. Am I the only one who thinks he looks a little fragile for a winger?
Maybe its the photos but his arms look tiny. Parry certai ly looks much more of a physical specimen as does the Sivo.

Agree ... i am happy for him to play either 1 or centre .... but need to let him be one or the other and not keep changing
