Do you know when the last time or how often he has played the full 80min? (And I’m not being a smart arse I genuinely want to know)
The point is we've had other options on the edge, plus a lack of height in the middle. This has seen Moeroa play most of his minutes in the middle.

Considering every forward is more dangerous attacking out wide (including Junior Paulo) it's no wonder merkins are disappointed in Moeroa's 'development' since his 'breakout season' in 2015. It's not that he hasn't improved since then, but rather that he has fewer opportunities to run at halfbacks.

His tackling styles questionable. Seems to keep getting concussions. He doesn't look too offload which was a feature in juniors. Still young and could break out this year with Lane.

Don't get the Tepai criticism, tbh.

He's a beast in defense, and he has had luminaries such as Gutherson, Moses, Norman, etc. to run off on the edges...

He's going pretty well, imo.

I actually reckon one D. Brown will be amazing for Tepai's attacking game.

Well I think you are actually hoping. Which by the way we all are.

I on the other hand don't have confidence but reckon that if he actually developed a step before the line or ran better lines or between players as opposed to always trying to just barge his way forward he might get his attacking game consistently somewhere in the vicinity of between 120-150m a game. I don't even care anymore if he doesn't develop his passing game, which I know he has but has retired it totally.

Maybe the coach and and halves should give him these tips or maybe they already have ad nauseam but his to blockhead and one dimensional to change. Who knows? But what I do know is if he keeps playing the same way again, then nothing will change.

Maybe having a few extra big bodies might free him up somewhat and give him a little more space to work in. We will see.

I think Moeroa's future is at lock. He can get through big minutes and adds size to any pack. He can also take a mean hit up.
For mine he has a few attributes that brown doesn't have and size is huge in today's game

Not saying Brown shouldn't start. Maybe bench moeroa who can cover a few positions

Mate if you don't think Brown is light years in front of a defensive plodder like Moeroa no matter what size, you aren't watching the same game.

He might end up as a 13, but not because he is anywhere near the explosive aggression that Brown delivers, but because of his solid defense in the middle and Brown is broken and/or unavailable.

Take a mean hit up? What? Yeah I suppose that's if you're referring to the way the opposition meet him at the defensive line and smash him up real mean like.

Yeah he has learnt to do that well. Kudos to him. Yippee!!!

The makeup of our pack this year will be all about covering Paulo in defence. Brown will be our second best attacking middle, but hasn’t shown much defensive work rate so far (probably because we’ve needed him to play long minutes and take a lot of runs). I wouldn’t be surprised if Brown goes back to the bench now Paulo’s In the team.

if he gets one more concussion he should retire for his own good

he has become way too chinny and has already missed a few games because of repeated concussions

That is stating the obvious. IIRC he played the trial in headgear.

Has there been a NRL player as yet who has been medically retired because of Post Concussion Syndrome ? It will happen to someone bc they will become uninsurable.

I posted something similar a few months back. For a young bloke he's spent way too many times getting HIA's... I would say if he has 1 maybe 2 this season he needs to seriously consider his long term future. Who knows, some serious long term harm may already be done and it might be too late already...

Tepai will be going in rugby style in 19. Get ready for plenty of head padding

Also most concussions are as a result of poor tackling techniqued - how many times has cameron smith been replaced as a result of concussion. I can't remember one. Parramatta seem to have a forward pack full of concussion problems, and past probblems like degois and King.

Our poor tackling technique is a result of poor coaching. Whether it's poor defensive coaches or a poor head coach, who knows, but there is one common denominator.

I'm not sure Brown is any more or any less effective coming off the bench. In 2017 he proved himself an 80 minute middle forward. I don't get why you'd waste an interchange bringing him on/off. I reckon he's as effective in minute 5 as he is in minute 75 usually. I'd rather use that interchange to bring on someone a bit more explosive or who will bring a point of difference. You need someone on the park who does what Brown does for 80 minutes. If he's up to it (like he was in 2017) then let's just use him in that role....

Fair enough.

Just bear in mind that he has played his entire First Grade career to date in a shit side, and our halves have constantly been garbage.

There was a period of time in 2017 when Moses was taking the line on, and Moeroa was running off his hip, and Moeroa was making good ground.

But then all of a sudden, Moses shelved his running game, and Moeroa went back to the battering ram style of forward.

Imo, Moeroa is too talented and skillful to be a simple battering ram.

He is best when plays 60mins.
I'd rather him play the last 60....

How is there a common denominator when you've mentioned players with a history of concussion before they joined the Eels?
