I am not squashing your idea(s) however there is now a cap on what a club can spend on it's football department. Cronk would want 20% of it from whichever club he coached at, which would not be smart economics.

If other teams can hire million dollar coaches, why can't we? Not that he would be on that anyway. For his first contract, he would understand that he has not proven himself at all, and would be on significantly less. Obviously he would be taking on coaching in the first place because he has a desire to do it over the media, to answer your next question as to why would he take less then he could earn elsewhere?

But didn't he appoint them all?
He selected them from a range of candidates based on their suitability as board members however if you are suggesting they just follow what he wants because he put them in place, I would be happy to try and arrange for you to meet some of them so you can put that to them. The ones I have met have no allegiance to Max that I can see in either their professional history or club related dealings.

That was kinda what I was getting at but nothing as extreme as suggesting they're just lackeys. But he did choose them so I was thinking he might naturally have picked not only suitable board members but those more aligned with his way of thinking. And he is still around so I also wonder if they might feel somewhat beholden to him and thus he's more influential than simply being one of seven board members.

How likely is it you think he’ll do any substantial coaching over doing a Sterlo? He’d probably earn more as a coach but time/effort definitely in media’s favour

I love that a ball hasn't even been kicked yet and the season is over.

Sure, if it turns out you are right we'll hear about how f**king wonderful you were for predicting it or you'll change your tune and pretend that you never really meant it and you knew it would be turned around.

I am sure their are worse fanbases out there but FMD it is hard to deal with the fans of this club!

I doubt Cooper Cronk will travel further west than Pyrmont or possibly Forest Lodge for any reason at any point for the rest of his life once he retires from playing. He would be Zero chance of accepting a coaching gig with Parra.

Nobody is f**king writing the season off mate. We are putting ourselves in the position of what the football management may be thinking based on our current roster and the results of past season.

Do you really think that Bernie and the decision makers around the football department haven't thought about the priorities leading into this season regarding the club's future ?

It would be highly irresponsible not to have these internal discussions as time is of the greatest importance when making decisions like these.

From a fans perspective, of course we wouldn't write off the season. Many have purchased season tikiteks, and are the most loyal fans out of any club.

Moses was pretty bad last year, along with most of our players. Something went terribly wrong, and they were all out of form.

Some nitwits have decided Michael Jennings is now a reserve grader ffs

MJ was probably the worst player in 18. He may well be past it.

The best coaches want the best players. That requires plenty of TPAs.

They could easily move Potter into a caretaker role.

He'd be a busy boy if that happened.

He was still one of our best players. He dropped the ball more than usual but otherwise his performance wasn’t much different to previous years. But like most smaller outside backs he struggled behind a beaten team.
