I don't understand the fascination with moving Gutho to the centres. So far this year he's topping the "playmaking" stats, on par with Keary for try assists + line break assists. He's 4th for running metres. Constantly backs up when there's a line break. Plays well both sides of the field. We give our wingers an opportunity to drift over to the other side of the field when a play is called but our centres generally stay on their side.

Trouble is he is a supporter not a generator of attacking raids. We desperately need a fullback able to break the D line and act as another half so our attack becomes much more potent. Gutho isn't that sort of fullback.

Obviously they can't fit Holmes into their 2019 squad now, but they did cut (or fail to complete the signing of ) Segeyaro in March.

Not sure how not signing a $100k player magically fixed their salary cap. They still have to sign a 30th player by 30 June and the min pay is around $100k. Funny how they were not cap compliant for the years before and after their gf but compliant for that year. Gee the NRL are a gullible lot.

Realistically how many fullbacks going would you trade Gunco for?
From round 4 team lists:
Tedesco - yes but he isn't cheap
Boyd - has experience but Gunco has him on everything else - maybe could suggest Isaako but he isn't setting the world on fire
RTS - yes but not cheap plus is it just me or does he appear to be on decline?
Gordon - no
Edwards - no
DWZ - no - weird that he played well for NZ though
Mbye - no
Trbgfhjsdflkjevic - yes but really the only difference is size and strength. Speed, ball playing, etc are probably about the same
Johnston - no
Martin - no. Who is Cows real fullback?
Shiny Nickel Clockstand - no
Bogan - no
Moylan - better at some things, worse at others
Hughes - no - realistically Drinkwater is their fullback who's an unknown as well
Meaney - no

Ponga - yes

A lot of merkins either severely underrating Gunco, or more likely overrating the fullback stocks in the comp. This isn't 5-10 years ago when half of the top players in the comp were fullbacks
