No one has ever mentioned $850K is what he has been holding out for. We have managed this very poorly no matter what happens from here no matter what you say. It would not surprise me if Gutho got the jack of it and thought and moved on.

Some people love money more then others. Some just do not want to be ripped off.
Gutherson is most likely no 2. Wants to be paid what or close to his worth. His choice what value he puts on where he wants to be and money can earn elsewhere.

Not many clubs will Pay him more then 700k. Only desperate ones. If Parra offered 640k a year and he could earn 740k eslewhere will he?
1.85mill vs 2.15 mill.

After Tax perhaps 200k extra. I highly doubt he leaves for an extra 50k a year.

If the rumours are true about Guth wanting to know BA's situation regarding being re-signed before he will re-sign, then how can we expect to sign the Guth now ?

I've never heard anyone in the media talk or write about the common sense situation at the Eels right now, all they want to do is sink the boot in and Ayoub can go f**k himself till BA gets sorted and that is supposedly a month or so away.

We win the next 2 and I think the club brings forward its decision and BA gets re-signed. A 6/8 start is top quality and would mean only needing 7-8 more wins from 16 games to make the finals.

Not wanting to jinx him, but Ayoub knows what a knee injury could do to guthos career at this point in time. Hence him trying to pressure the club into signing him now. Especially the 4 year deal IMO. Glad the club is attempting to sort it without giving into the demands of the manager.

No one will give us credit for not jumping the gun with these re-signings.

Mind you the ones in the media sinking the boot in are the same ones that last year were sinking the boot in to half these players and they're performances reminding us weekly how bad they were.

I heard yesterday from a reliable source that we are less than $50k per season away (from the $700k looked for) but that Ayoub has now upped it to $750k per year (and we wonder why player managers are hated by clubs).
I heard today from a lot less reliable source that we have agreed to terms and will announce mid-week.
