Does anyone know what became of the case between Geyer and the NRL Memes guy? Does it still exist or was it just a way for Geyer to try and get the focus away from his daughter? Is there a way to look up these cases?

Was 500k a decent offer back then, considering his form? Yes it was IMO. Did anyone know he was going to explode into form start of 19? Hell no.

Had the club pulled it off (4-500k per year) they’d be f^*king geniuses. Hats off to them for trying. Now hopefully he’ll sign somewhere between the 5-700k mark.

If he has another serious injury (God forbid) it will go back to the original offer.

There is a way to look these up, but it will be too early in this case. Just go to the NSW Supreme Court website, court lists and search for the names of the parties.

Since he came back from injury (four weeks ago) he has come off the bench each time (despite wearing jersey 8) and played a single stint of less than 30 minutes. Against Manly he played an extra 10 minute stint at the end, presumably to try and get the win (they didn't).

In two of these four games he made a lot of carries. In the other two he made f**k all. It must come down do how much ball they have while he's on the field. His metres per carry have been good in each game. He's made 7 tackle breaks in 31 carries, which is excellent for a middle forward. But obviously that intensity is easier to maintain in limited minutes.

All we know is his manager is doing the negotiation and however much he demanded was too much for us. We also know our offer was too low for him. That's negotiations. There's a good chance we knew our initial offer would be unders just as it is certain Ayoub knew his initial demand would be more than any club would be willing to pay.

Because Ayoub should have started with a reasonable demand? His job is to get the maximum amount possible. Just as our management's job is to fit as much talent under the cap as possible without cheating.

He's been off contract since November. Ayoub would've known of the extent of rival interest long before then. More importantly, we didn't. We only know how much the player is worth to us, and I already told you that's less than whatever Ayoub's initial demand was.

See above. I agree at his best and injury free he might be worth $700k. But last year when we made our offer he was worth no more than $500k. Now after six games his value has increased by 40%? That's still a fair risk.

Moses and Paulo are far more effective attacking players than Gutherson, who is high involvement but sometimes should pass it to someone more dangerous rather than just taking another run. He's like an injury prone Darius Boyd without the big game experience.

Totally delusional assessment of the situation. Not worth going over old ground. Lets just see what happens.
