He's a high involvement player, with a dangerous running game, and good defense; theoretically, he would be a good foil for Cherry-Evans.

I must admit, this muppet made me laugh. Apparently Manly can offer more than us because they have 10 players off contract. We have close to 20 players off contract and could go after any player we wanted if we were keen to stuff our roster balance.

For the record, I think he is a stop gap 5/8 at best.

But he would not play fullback at Manly.

His options, as I see it, would be 5/8, or centre.

And would he leave the Eels to go play centre or 5/8 at another club, for slightly more money?

Seeing as he is our captain, I doubt it...

Not sure that Moanly will offer the terms that his manager is looking for, they have already paid DCE, upgraded the Trbojevics, resigned both front rowers, so it could likely be a play to make us rush into completing the deal.

Personally, rate Gutho but he is not in the same postcode as Tedesco, Turbo, Ponga who would be on the dollars his manager is after. If the club stepped up and bent over for Ayoub's demands, where would that leave management in any future signings, need to take a chill pill and let it play out.

Unfortunately , if he wants the big dollars , he may have to go, not sure who would stump up the dollars, but that's what happens as the media is manipulated by player managers.

Ayoub has his mates in the media doing most of the work. For once I hope our management see through crap and call his bluff. If we lose him we lose him who cares

Sorry mate. He killed it when he played at 1. Was always going to end up there like Hayne. He is also faster than Jarryd. The 40m time trials in the NFL proved it. He is the closest I’ve seen to Hayne in recent times.

Jake T is on $700k
Tom T is on $900k
Sironen is on $400k

Throw in Tapau who would have to be on at least $600k (probably more) and that’s $3.85k of a $9.6k salary cap. If Gutho signs for $750k then that’s basically half the cap in 6 players leaving the other 24 to split the rest.
