If we’re giving long contracts to injury-prone players we won’t be winning grand finals anyway.

One maybe injury prone player is hardly systemic mate. But hey if hyperbole makes you feel a winner, go right ahead.

He is worth the risk at that fair price. otherwise the only other alternative is your favourite type of player...a bog Mr Average.

Look, $650 is a reasonable amount to pay for Gutho, we agree, but what I don't agree is that we should pay overs.

Look, we should sign players on our terms not Ayoub's terms.

I don't think we need to sort it out quick as there is no one else chasing after him, Dessie said they have no money under the cap, they cant sign anyone.

Methinks you may be stressing for no reason.

Netflix and chill.

I agree on not paying overs and $650K is fair. Who said I'm stressing out. I have no control over the outcome. Either the club get it wright or they get it wrong. Time will be the judge. I just don't agree with how they have gone about this 100%, but I also understand that none of us have the complete details overall.

That is why time will make he club look like geniuses or chumps. Just because I have an opinion doesn't mean I'm in stress mode mate.

Sorry if already posted. Article says we're holding out because we're looking at putting in a serious offer for Latrell. It's from Buzz though.

Latrell is a luxury player that would cost any club between $1.3m and $1.5m and we can't afford that much money on a centre no should we. Unless at least a third of that was TPA money. For any club to prize him out of the Roosters it would cost a mint.

Besides, why would any club pay that much for a Inglis clone, that hasn't proven himself at fullback or 5/8th? He is the sort of player you get before they become superstars or if they are playing for a crap team and they want to go to a better one a la Tedesco.

Had a conversation with a friend who is also a mid level player manager, and he said this is Sam Ayoub 101 behaviour. This time as the club refuses his demands , he is using the media to get his outcome. These stand offs occur a fair bit, but not often is the media involved.

I asked why does he bother, he said his spiel to players is that he will drive the hardest bargain, and get results no one else can achieve. Feels that if the Gutho tactic succeeds, he has a massive selling point that he will use to attract more players into his company.

Guess at the end of the day, it's who blinks first, imagine if the club just pays what Ayoub is asking for, they will find it difficult with other player managers, no one wants to,lose Gutho but our offer seems more than fair if not slight overs. See where it heads, maybe if BA is extended then a lot of signings fall into place, who knows?

Waqa Blake has done SFA this year.

If could chose a centre to be at eels now out of

Mj,Blake,croker,Leiilua,Aitken who would it be?

Id go Blake over the others personally. He is just in a team going shit. Crokers defense is the best. MJ is a nice mix but Blakes attack is by far the best. Unsure how his defense goes.

Well I was wrong. Turns put Blake has best tackle effieciency of the other centres mentioned and 2nd in tackle breaks. And first in Average run meters. And that's playing in a team running close to last. Imagine if he was in a top 4 side that is dominating.

Jam that up your pipe and smoke it

Irrelevant. You can negotiate an offer now for 2021 onward. It is in the rules. It's a technical point, but it is allowed.
No, clubs can only approach him from 1 November, 2019. Like to see a link that supports your position.

You might want to reflect on the trouble that the Warriors got into for approaching Dylan Brown who is also contracted to 2020.

Look at canberra with a good pack, strong winger and woefull halves and an average fullback.

Paul Crawley said yesterday on NRL 360 that contrary to belief that's not the case. He reckons you can approach them anytime but only about signing when they're uncontracted.
