Rumours and Stuff

Define "begin talks" though. A club HOF could take a player from another club for a pub lunch and lament the fact that he doesn't play for them. He could state that if anything went wrong with his current contract then they would be willing to sign him for X amount of $$. The rule is only there to appease the public and the rule itself is so ambiguous that it's laughable ( like most things the NRL come up with). It's amusing to see people on here accuse the NRL for being incompetent in a lot of the things that they do. They are actually quite smart. They leave enough uncertainty in the wording of the rules to allow the time honoured status quo to continue unabated. As a regular breaker of the rules and an old non conformist, It amuses me when ever I see people demanding that "the rules" must be followed. Make your own rules people! Just don't bitch if they bite you in the arse.

If Walker gets charged with assault he’ll get the sack and they will have a war chest to throw at Gutho.

good point but not exactly like for like, 5/8 and FB, although both are utility types

Guth has always said he wants to play FB and he wont play FB for Manly while Turbo Tom is there

Sweet. We'll take turbo Tom on his current contract and they can have Gutho. That improves their warchest and gives us the fullback we'd really like to have It's a win/win and the least those silvertail merkins could do for us after all the player swaps between us both over the years.

Who wants Tom Turbo? He's on an apparent 900k, constantly riddled with injury and struggles when balls are kicked around his feet.

No thanks.

I'll take your word for it. The only time I've seen him play is in origin and when we play them when it's on FTA so my opinion of him is probably limited to the hype. I'd rather have an elite fullback over Gutho though. Even if Tommy isn't it.

But we are just making shit up ... for all we know manly has said they will offer the same or more just not fullback nor captain and gutho loves BA so wants to stay
Anything's possible but I have no doubt that if that were the case then Ayoub would have leaked that info to pressure our club into upping their offer.

...or maybe Des has indicated that should Walker get the sack they would be in a position to offer his $750-$800k. Therefore it is in his interest to hold off signing with us.

No, clubs can only approach him from 1 November, 2019. Like to see a link that supports your position.

You might want to reflect on the trouble that the Warriors got into for approaching Dylan Brown who is also contracted to 2020.
Crawly stayed on 360 last night that they can negotiate just not sign until November 1. I’m not sure I believe him though

So why did the Warriors get in trouble regarding Dylan Brown ? His contract expires 2020 the same as Latrell’s.

Because they completed, signed and delivered him a contract.
Oh and they claimed they thought he was out of contract at the end of 2019.
