Brilliant words by a brilliant man.
I tend to agree. Souths will inject
Robert's,Johnston,Walker,Gagai,Cook and Murray. That is some serious fire power.
Last night Souths seemed to create far more space easier. At 20-2 we should of kicked on and blown them away. Instead it become a close battle.
Whilst I agree Gronky, name me one Eels fan who wasnt even the slightest bit nervous when Turgess scored? I bet, truthfully you cant.It was never a close battle. Souths NEVER looked like they could win.
Souths lacked attacking options. If they could get close to our line they might crash over through the middle. Otherwise they were relying on Connor Tracey to do a (pretty fair) imitation of Cody Walker to make any inroads.Whilst I agree Gronky, name me one Eels fan who wasnt even the slightest bit nervous when Turgess scored? I bet, truthfully you cant.
Sure, if you reflect on the club over 20 years, we’d prolly let them back in. I was talking about the two teams last night. Reynolds was not 100% and the Burgess triplets were very quiet. They didn’t threaten us in any way. The only time they looked a chance was when the ref gave them back to back to back sets.Whilst I agree Gronky, name me one Eels fan who wasnt even the slightest bit nervous when Turgess scored? What do you think they are?

Interestingly we probably played our best footy (probably the “toughest” too) under BA in 2016/2017 when Watmough/Scott/Foran/Peats all had some involvement in the side / squad / training / preparation / etc etc
In my opinion, Foran was the best signing Arthur has made. I don't care what anyone says, there was no way to predict Foran's incredible fall from grace. Arthur was really on the right track there; signing a real big name leader. We need this again. We need a REALLY big name leader for next year. Ideally, I'd like to see two origin-level forwards and a hooker (Mahony's only the answer if we want to remain a middle of the table team). As I've said before, signings for 2020 are crucial. If we don't get it right, Dylan Brown wont stick around and we'll be stuck with Moses as the main playmaker (which he cant handle). We've got enough 'budget' players who are hard-working first graders: we need two stars to ignite them.
You also didn't mention that all the points they scored were directly from garbage decisions by the referees to ensure they stayed in the game. When the referees give them the ball on our line back to back to back it is always going to be hard to contain the big boys they have.
I don't think we would have beaten them at full strength but last night with the team they fielded i don't think i was once worried we would lose, i knew they'd make sure the scores were close by giving them every call and then some but we looked in control from start to finish..........and i am the most negative and least confident supporter we have!
I thought the first half they were ordinary but they had a plan to barge over the line from the very beginning, it was a tactic which failed in the first half and worked in the second.
The second half they definitely made adjustments and they straight away attacked Hoffman's side and their first 2 sets made breaks.
We won a game that most expected us to lose because it was the game we were supposed to win. Parra logic would suggest we were supposed to lose that one. While I'm ecstatic that we won it, reality will be more forthcoming when we play the Sharks in the Shire. One win on the road since 2017......over to you BA.Not talking our chances up and claiming we’re world beaters but our forwards absolutely monstered theirs. Despite being depleted, that’s our forward packs best display in terms or aggression and intensity. Had they played like that the past two weeks, I dare say we’d be sitting a little prettier of the table.
Do you think they are correct?
Well we are due.We won a game that most expected us to lose because it was the game we were supposed to win. Parra logic would suggest we were supposed to lose that one. I'm not saying that we can't beat the Sharks, just saying that recent form along with away game history suggests otherwise. The only things that are due in life are time payments.Well we are due.
My rent is due as well, can you help a brother out???I'm not saying that we can't beat the Sharks, just saying that recent form along with away game history suggests otherwise. The only things that are due in life are time payments.
I was at the game and never did I at any point feel like we would lose the game.Whilst I agree Gronky, name me one Eels fan who wasnt even the slightest bit nervous when Turgess scored? I bet, truthfully you cant.
