Hey RAM your thoughts on Tepai are starting to look like you went off to early on the 20yld. He is really starting to look fast and hitting the line like a brick.
Its ok to bang on about why we let this junior go after they come good but first you need to give them a decent chance.

Next year I see Tepai climbing the order and becoming our best forward. His progress the last 8 weeks has been great.

No not at all unfortunately. His figures haven't improved much at all really, especially 3 weeks ago when he had made a sensational 32m from 10 receives 5 runs in 69mins. Sure he made 38 tackles which is very good, but I am referring to his running game. It is virtually non existent at present and that is supposed to be his strength. It's not like he is an intimidating hitter/defender like Scott either.

If we want just a tackling backrower fine, but all our backrowers are very good at that. My point is the guy is a beast in stature but delivers powder puff performances when it comes to running strong lines. Even though last week was one of his better efforts in attack, where he just made over 100m, he still got dominated at times by a much weaker pack.

Sorry, but he at this stage doesn't impress me at all. I would still persist with him though due to his age and some players just take much longer to work it out in the NRL. I hope he is one of those, but it is looking shaky at this stage of proceedings.

I agree Ram. Tepai does not impress me in the slightest. He is big - that's all. There are dozens of forwards who offer more.

He has been pushing over 100mtrs in recent times.
And hitting in defense with venom.
You are aware that BA has told him to tame things down and let his body adjust to first grade to avoid injuries.
Just the same as Kaysa.Giving hin small minutes.

Next year he will let Tepai and Kaysa go for it..They be different players.

Just ignore whatever Ram says about Moeroa.

The kid is logging great numbers for his position. Ram just cherry picks a bad game here and then to suit his argument.
Just ignore the 146m against the Tigers, 147m against the Titans, and focus on a 30m game, or a 55m game.

Of course he has his ups and downs in attack, that's to be expected for a younger forward. His defensive workload has been great, and he brings some sting to the pack. Will be better in attack next season - I'd expect him to be over 100m every game in a couple of years - but that's very difficult for a backrower to be achieving in their first season or 2.

Personally, I think Moeroa is going great.

I think people see his sheer size and expect him to break tackles and make breaks and half-breaks with every touch, but he's making hard runs and making metres - but not even Taumalolo does this every game.

And his defence is improving , too.
