Like someone mentioned earlier, I think he was signed on at an inflated price because of potential. I think our current offer is (hopefully) scaled back based on his actuals, not potential. I don't consider his form right now a world away from what it was last time he signed...

Tepai is only outside the 17 because Gower is in terrific form. Your assertion that he has been offered a reduced salary is made up in an attempt to strengthen your argument. He is still only 23 and has played 101 FG games FFS. You can't manufacture that experience and there would few on the market who could equal it.

It IS possible that the Eels are taking a cautious approach with his head injuries and the length of his next contract could be impacted with this approach.

If he can continue to play at a high level and not be hampered by concussion, then he would continue to be a great addition to our squad IMHO.

Tepai is outside of the top 17 because he is a useless at best tackling slug. Gower a 35 year old veteran that has never been a world beater but a good and consistent all round utility forward that has out shone the slug for a very long time and it has only just now dawned on the super coach who the better player is. As for not easily being able to replace a slug in attack and an ok defender who can give away the dumbest of penalties at the worst possible time? You're dreaming.

He is a backup only in any descent roster. The guy is a failure at league considering the early wraps and now is considering a switch of codes because we have probably reduced our offer compared to the robbery that he was on due to that over hyped early potential. Lets hope the new offer is where I have said he should have been all along. Around $200K, that's it. Take it or leave it thief.

Bullocks! He has always been sh*t. How many times do I need to say it. He has done nothing to substantiate his current contract money which I would hazard a guess would be upwards of $500K. If anyone thinks otherwise(less) they are kidding themselves. The guy was hyped by all and sundry, no way we paid less to keep him. We weren't that type of club. Hell we are barely any different now. But at least we are trying this time around.

Which was his best ever game for us, he was killing it in that game. He’s been a shadow of that player since.
