For the right price he would be a good signing, assuming he can stay on the field.

Adds some leadership / experience to our pack / middle. And allows Mahoney to play 50-60 mins. Peats could start, play first 30 mins, then Mahoney plays rest of the game.

Obviously playing 80 mins in the middle is big task for Mahoney especially with defensive. But he is also a good runner, so coming on fresh against tiring defensive could help his running game to.

We also can bring Peats back on for the last 10-15 mins to add to our line speed/defence.

So adding peats probably helps our middle defence which has been poor and helps our attack.

Josh Reynolds would be another good option to play a similar role but offers more coverage in positions (and more skills such as kicking and better attack) but not as strong defensive.

A real shame too. If we fix our defensive issues we may prove a threat. As it stands, we’ll just be making up numbers if we happen to limp into the finals

Early in the season I thought our defence was pretty good. The Raiders only managed 3 tries down there with 60+% possession... Round 1 the Panthers only scored when we were down a man in the bin.

Feels like since Danny Levi and The Knights tore us to shreds up the middle of the ruck and the 60 point hammering to the Storm, our defensive structure has been irrevocably broken

I'm not sure what's the cause and whats the result, but few teams this year have survived an onslaught up the middle with fast play the balls and skillful dummy half running. I'm thinking Knights v Rooters up in Newy when Connor Watson ripped them a new one. NSW did the same to QLD in the first half of origin 1 with Klemmer and Cooke. Its not just us. It is an issue though, I'm not saying it's not.

Depends who we play. I would back us against the other teams in the bottom of the 8. Coming 4th and going to Melbourne doesn't seem too appealing.

Welch, Arrow, Ese'Ese/RCG would be great additions.
I would also chase Reece Robson from the dragons. I think a Mahoney rotation is required.
Need to identify a backrower or 2 to target. We may be short their next yr unless they have plans for Taka to give the 2nd row another go.
Backs are good with Parry showing the makings of a good outside back.
I think our full strength backline is awesome..quality backups will help propel the club to the next level

Nothing will change until we fix our defence! Might make the 8 but not win the comp until we do.
