They are never broken, as many have said they stakeholders sometimes negotiate a compromise.

I noticed that you didn't include Gordon Tallis in your comprehensive list. He sat out a year with STG when he wanted to go to the Broncos.

SBW was forced to pay a f**k ton of compensation to the Dogs. IIRC he had to borrow 3/4 million from Mundine.

Tim Mannah seemed to want out of his contract last season but it didn’t happen.
Canberra made Anthony Milford play out his contract before moving to Brisbane despite him asking for a release a year early.

It happens all the time, sure, but it doesn’t always happen.
