He's a gun, but honestly a year away IMO. I don't follow the juniors as closely as some (like yourself) but I'd say training with the FG squad is more of an enticement to stay than an indication of his rank within the squad.

The hope is that a full-time pre-season will accelerate his development quite a bit. He is a very good prospect. Rough around the edges but in possession of a great athletic profile and proper footy skills. Obviously he is far from the first NYC outside back to have that said about them but if he can piece it together over the coming break he is definitely going to cause good headaches.

Josh Hoffman is a very astute signing. If Semi leaves in 2018 to Union he will takes Semi's spot on the left wing. I'm hoping however that we can offload Jennings to the UK Super League and the Hoff can take his spot at left centre.

Jennings has a contract through until 2019. Apparently the reason he chose Parra is so he can be closer to home. No way he would agree to leave. He'll be 31 when he comes off contract. Super League might be an option then but more likely is he will still be good enough for the top 17 of every NRL club.

Between Hoffman, Sio/Winterstein, Jennings, French, Gutherson, Semi and Taka which one misses out? Assuming French is fullback and Gutherson is 6, you wouldn't think Winterstein/Sio would come here to play for Wenty

I heard on the grapevine today that Brad still thinks French is not ready for a full season in first grade. Hence any depth helps.

The big question is our halves. I assume Norman and Gutho at the moment, with Jeff Robinson as back up. Sam Williams (or Ben Hunt) still an option?

I think Jennings was great for us this year - great defence, solid under the high ball and good at rucking it out.

Agreed - I reckon a lack of stability in the halves didnt help his cause. At his best hes a hole runner from a sweet ball. The money he's on, he'll get better service next year.
