That's it. He's a big player and without looking at the stats I'd say that he makes a fair few metres. Will help out our kick returns instead of French only passing to Semi he will now also be able to pass to the Hoff.
Here's the conundrum ....
Hoff doesn't have a passing game therefore I don't think he's a great fullback and he is predominantly a left side player ... So whilst BA wants him at the club I'd be interested to see how he compliments the line up.
Bullshit lingard. Teams that win the comp with a superstar do it because they are getting plenty of players for unders (possibly including the superstar).Which is why it is extremely difficult to get a team of honest, hard-working $300,000 players all at the same time. Which is why most clubs need at least one star or superstar in order to win the comp.
How many of them would be on Hayne type money?Really?
Barba, Gallen, Maloney, Fifita, Graham, Bird are rep quality players. Valentine Holmes is a superstar of the future and pretty close now.
How many of those would be on Hayne type money?Hodgson is a rep player, the best hooker in the game on form, absolute superstar. Leilua, Croker, and Rapana are in superstar form and could easily play rep football. Papalii is a rep player, so is Whitehead.
Agreed. You can get two or three 'rep quality' players for the price of one 'best-in-the-game' quality player. And because they're in a strong team everyone makes everyone else look better, so your Gareth Widdop circa 2014-16 (for example) looks like the Gareth Widdop of 2011-2013.The thing both these sides did is build sides that may not have an absolute "best in the game" in their position, but five or six guys who could be talked about as being in the second best tier of players, many of them identified early. I think BA is taking a similar approach.
Taka will play centre, Hoffman wing. We didn't extend Taka to play for Wenty and there's no spot for him on the bench when you think our 8-17 needs to include Mannah, Wicks, Brown, Vave, De Gois, Pritchard, Ma'u, Scott, Edwards, Moeroa, with Alvaro and Gower in the mix as well.
Gee he's durable. Hardly been injured all his career.
Games for his clubs (Broncos, Tits)
http://www.rugbyleagueproject.org/players/josh-hoffman/summary.html
Has played FB, wing, 5/8 and centre.
2010 20
2011 16
2012 23
2013 24
2014 20
2015 24
2016 25
I reckon Taka is one of our best centres anyway - he adds to much to this team.
I'm worried that with Hoff on the wing, the team 1-17 will lack a scapegoat.

No7>>>>taka<<<<<<Hoffman is a solid pick up and actually had one of his best seasons in years this year. He is solid in defence and attack. Has some ball skills, played a bit of 6 at the Broncos I think. Best position these days is centre. So possibly:
1. Gutherson
2. Radradra
3. Hoffman
4. Jennings
5. French.
6. Norman
7. ?
Hoffman will be a top 17 certainty. His salary will probably be in the top 10. No way is he a depth signing. That was my first thought too.
He is but nothing else, a GREAT depth signing.
Better than a Morgan or Folau jnr etc....
I'm quite happy with this purchase, if true.

I disagree. I reckon Hayne is better than all of them. His two Dally M awards and starring role in rep teams proves that. The money they're on is irrelevant. Every player there would improve any side they signed with. It's completely untrue to say that the Sharks and Raiders don't have a superstar player.
All of those players are better than Hayne right now.
I agree that should be the line up if we don't sign a 7, but with the constant rumours of us signing a halfback, if it happens, someone will have to miss out and with Taka's poor defence, (he can be slow to move across and slow to turn around), I'm not sure who you would leave out ahead of him. He'll be in the team somewhere, probably off the bench. But if we don't sigh a 7 then I agree with the above. If BA does what he said at the end of the season it will be more like this i would say.
1. French
2. Hoffman
3. Takairangi
4. Jennings
5. Radradra
6. Gutherson
7. Norman
A pretty strong backline there.
And with the titans who will be there outside backs next year with hoffman and mead leaving is the hayne plane going to be playing in 3 positions

De Gois... seemed to work for some this season?I'm worried that with Hoff on the wing, the team 1-17 will lack a scapegoat.

You must be referring to his pre 2014 achievements.I disagree. I reckon Hayne is better than all of them. His two Dally M awards and starring role in rep teams proves that.
