I work in the Club industry and my partner works in the travel industry. Covid and the lock downs have lost us a lot of money. I'm only going to work 8 hours a week this week and i don't know if my work is going to make up the rest of my pay or if i have to use annual leave, which i had to use a heap of last year before Job Keeper came in.

Some of my mates are teachers or electricians and this has barely affected them at all. All the whinge about is not being able to travel anywhere. Where as i just wanna continue to work and pay my bills including my mortgage.

My partner had her shop close down, had to re apply for her job. Luckily she got a position elsewhere in the company. It's taken a big strain on our mental health. More so on her.
I have noticed alot of our friends are struggling too.

Bad times, man :(
That really sucks, man.

To be clear - my comments were directed at people who are whinging about the lockdown costing them their freedom.

I understand that many people, and small businesses, are doing it tough - and my heart genuinely goes out to them.

But my point is that these decisions aren't being made for the hell of it - we are facing a once-in-a-century global event, and it calls for drastic measures for the greater good.

All I'd like to see from the whiners is some perspective - we are in times that very few of us have ever faced before.

See there is your problem. When people are scared into believing that, then it never ends well for the people.

Away from footy, there are some great Nordic shows on Netflix . Young Wallender was great, and just finished the first series of a Finnish thriller called Deadwind. No lollipop heads (Model looks in the leads), normal people, strong storyline and sensible ending. Plenty of others to research and watch.

Only thing is the cadence of the Finnish language is not like any other, and Helsinki is not a very attractive city.

I'm still working through GOT. Ffs my kids told me not to get attached too anyone and boy were they right and I've only started Season 4.
Watched 3 Billboards Outside Ebbing ........
Worth a look. The Mighty Ducks is great as well. Easy watching and so many great moments.

Ugly languages like Finnish are why they're allowed to sing in English at Eurovision.

I was attached to Ramsey Bolton. Poor guy 😔
I'm up to S8 now. I reckon the show goes downhill after season 6 sharply. Becomes to much fantasy.

Once the show went past the books it was never the same, the last two seasons were horrible.

Oh so the books ended prior?

I felt the shows had a take on life back in that era with perhaps a slight exaggeration but nothing outside the possibilities.
Once the nightwalkers and dragaons become to prominent I felt it was to much fantasy and more action and less of a plot.
One episode it was an hour of Dragons flying and sword fighting. Hard to sit through that.

I’m surprised high school history classes don’t focus more time on Roberts Rebellion

The fat merkin writing the books hasn't released one in over 10 years, he still has two more books to write. Most of what he has written was done by season 5.
