Smith I think has been out of the game too long. I’ll get Pou to ask him.

And what Gronk said, Consistencyrulz
He was still at the Warriors up until a few years ago, good get Pou to ask him I hear they are close. Pou spoke to him once.

How about you dig up some of my posts where I said he was the best coach never to win a comp, or ones where I said he is tactically one of the greatest coaches of all time. Or one where I said there one was no one better to help build a club from the ground up or putting systems in place to be successful.

His time was up as coach and he had done all he could, and he deserved a comp for his time here but it wasn’t to be. But I don’t know how many posts I would have in here about bringing him to the club as head of football I notice you didn’t post one of them…….

And just cherry picking decade old comments to win some sort of point is classic you. Your follow up will be a gif or some deflection………
That doesn't sound like the Gronk I know.

So why do Penrith and The Storm have better players? Were they always better players? Who made them into better players? Im sick of this "better players" argument.
A good system, great coaching, great support staff and a strong front office create better players. There needs to be a pro active approach. Continuous improvement. You stay still you go backwards.
We have players as good as any team. If we cant progress further we need to be honest about what we lack and that would not be better players as the salary cap wont allow. Honesty is a must. Im confident our board wont be happy with the status quo regardless of how our team performs. Its no time to pat ourselves on the back.

I met Brian Smith.
He could have been anything, that kid.

Relax merkin. Yes, you have been calling for his return since 2010. You are 100% on the money.

However I was confident that you would have lost your shit in a alcohol fuelled post game meltdown at one stage. You never disappoint. 🤣 👏👍

Gus started the panthers structure quite a few years before the current structure (post 2018 for the eels) that is in place at the eels.

And the panthers only achieved some success last year, and they still haven’t won a comp. How many years did it take? 10 years?? Pre 2020 panthers were traveling similar to us in 2019 to 2021.

While the Storm have had a structure in place since 2003 or so…

it takes time, basically our new era is 2019 onwards, and each year there has been improvement. Additionally our squad for 2022 is already looking better then 2021. Apart from more experienced for our spine (plus some others), we will finally have some young backs ready to rip in the NRL….

I don’t actually think Scum have better players just, and to a degree this applies to Smugs, a winning culture that begets more winning culture. It’s why shit players like the Brenko Lees and Todd Lowries go there and play like their Origin vets, while the Dane Nielsens and Joe Stimsons leave and look like red hot overpaid garbage.
It’s hard for opponents to break that culture.

Agreed.... though I would say that 2009 Todd Lowrie in blue and gold was the best version we saw. He was solid after that but like most Eels players that year, 2009 was his high watermark IMO
