How the f**k can he expect to have his contract paid out years in advance if he just retired ?
It looks like he only retired because of the agreed payout. He might be injured enough to retire but don't forget this guy played most of his career at a high level while full of needles. I dare say he believes he could have continued to play busted, and indeed would have if he'd known he wouldn't get the payout he expected.

The club made him retire though through the salary cap saga earlier than he might have wanted. His body might have been busted but he still might have given hinself 12 months to try and get back. He still had 2 1/2 half years left in the contract.

I would say the club and choc would have agreed to some monetary payout for choc retiring earlier than expected. And i am sure any person who was in his situation would want all the money that they agreed upon.

I'm inclined to agree, there's been enough of these types of dramas lately, just pay him his money and get it over with..

So we aren't allowed to dislike someone who writes trash and acts like a f**kwit just in case they develop cancer and dies?

Interesting........

You missing the point. A bit of respect is deserved no matter how much crap she gave our club.

She rarely if ever showed respect in her articles across both NRL and A-League/Football and it certainly just wasn't our club that she attacked with her articles. She will be remembered by me as a spiteful, hate-filled person who sunk to the lowest of lows to write her pieces, she wasn't a pioneer in female journalism and she certainly didn't do anything to further the craft.

It is a shame for those that care for her that she has passed and no one wishes death or celebrates another person passing but that doesn't excuse her for what she did during her life.

But then again everyone's a top bloke after death.

You may be right, but there are times when it is appropriate to keep our views to ourselves until such time that she is in the ground and her love ones have had time to grieve without having to deal with tasteless comments.

I recall Stan Zemarnick (sp) from talk back radio passing and Mike Carlton savaged him on the day that his passing was announced. I think we can be better than that.

He is not turning up for work so why should he get paid ?

What ever the reasons he is not playing and he signed a contract to play, not just to get paid for retiring.

Ridiculous.

The waters are murky because the Insurance Company deemed that it was a pre-existing injury.

So from our POV it was not work related and we should get off scott free BUT we needed him off our books ASAP to get cap compliant. So who knows what we agreed to pay him at the time. As @Barry O'Speedwagon said earlier it's all about the Deed of Release.

People are excusing her "career" just because she has passed. I never made any excuse to her whilst she was living and won't be any different after her passing.

Once again I am not making light of her death and am not celebrating her passing. Just calling what her career for what it was. And unlike her I am not writing an article just after her death that is as obtrusive and as careless as the articles she would write about professional athletes.
