This time last year we hadn’t signed anyone or heard much. Or even knew who the promising juniors were.

And we signed papa, Cartwright, Opacic, Roache, lussick and added Penisini / Russell / JA to the squad. Some improved our top 17 others improved our squad.

additionally we have already signed Greig / perham who will both be like new signings as they haven’t done an offseason.

Based on who we currently have our 2022 squad is already better then the 2021.
Especially if we get a capable néw
coaching staff.

That's because he just makes a bunch of hit ups. It's not an effective running game for a half. He's only made 5 line breaks all year.
That’s pretty impressive 5 line breaks for Drown, considering experienced players in Walker has only made 10 (31 years 157 games) and Munster 5 (26 years 163 games), and both in sides that have the best attack and better sides then the eels.

Pretty much supports my point, once our attack improves and we put Drown in a better attacking position, he will be very good!

Besides Papalii, none of those signings have improved our top 17. Most of them have played f**k all minutes in first grade. This is the problem when you wait till the off season to do all your signing. You end up with mostly dregs.

Greig and Perham will play f**k all next year too.

I said side and squad.....

pretty sure opacic/lussick are better backs up then our 2020 versions.....

while cartwright has improved our top 17 no matter how mins he plays.

let’s see how Greig / Perham goes after a offseason

What about all other stats? Tries, TA, LBA. I doubt drown is anywhere near Munster. Also it’s been mentioned many times that Munster hasn’t fired at all this season.

It's not impressive. Walker has double. And Munster has 7, not 5. Munster also has more tries (7-3), more try assists (10-2) and more LBAs (7-2). That's what you want from a half. Not a hit up merchant. Dylan might be decent in a position other than the halves. But right now at 6 he is a non-entity.

You replied to my post talking about our bench (top 17). If Cartwright is an improvement BA certainly doesn't think so because he barely uses him. Can't be an improvement if he isn't used. I argued with you in the off season about the exact same thing re our bench for this year. Our bench is not good enough. And it will be more of the same next year.

never said he was elite !! Read my posts!

regarding Drown’s running game , you and others all say our attack is shit!! Our attacking shape is shit!!

But then you all expect a 21 year rookie to make breaks on the edge!! If our attack is so shit how does Drown get space to attack making LB…..thus his 5 LB compared to the elite halves isn’t to bad considering our attack is so shit and Drown’s experience/age…

Yeah because when I initially mentioned our club not being linked to players and maybe it was because they’re not sure who’ll be coaching, I was talking about 13 and 14 year olds wasn’t I?
We have the current top 17 (minus Ferguson) contracted for next year, plus had a bunch of retentions. I'd say whatever we saved on losing Ferguson has been spent on retentions. Penisini will probably replace Ferguson in the top 17. Therefore the only signings we will get are outside the top 17, including development list players.

He averages 102 m a game, which is close to the best of all halves.

So Drown has already shown he is an effective runner of the ball.

We just need to give him better opportunities one on one with the opposition or with some space.

additionally he does need to improve his ball playing, but that will come with time/experience and when we improve our attack.

and he is already an elite defender at 21.
Also, he has had better playmaking stats in the past. He is having 'second season syndrome' a year late.

One of the main reasons our attack is shit is because the guy on the right (and now back to the left) who is meant to organize that side and create opportunities can’t do it! He can barely pass left to right.

Sorry but you’re the one comparing him to
Munster. When any fan knows they aren’t in the same league.
No shit Sherlock!!

@Noise said Drown only has 5 LB, however if you compare the advantage Munster /Walker have playing with South’s/Storm along with their experience, Drown in comparison (in LB) is developing ok. Considering he is playing in a shit attacking side and is only 21!!
