Rumours and Stuff

We have the current top 17 (minus Ferguson) contracted for next year, plus had a bunch of retentions. I'd say whatever we saved on losing Ferguson has been spent on retentions. Penisini will probably replace Ferguson in the top 17. Therefore the only signings we will get are outside the top 17, including development list players.
Do we still have Jennings' money to throw into our 2022 mix?

Ok back track some more. But please tell me
About the 14 yo’s. I’m so intrigued. And what does that rubbish above have anything to do with your statement about Robinson? FMD you talk some rubbish.

No shit Sherlock!!

@Noise said Drown only has 5 LB, however if you compare the advantage Munster /Walker have playing with South’s/Storm along with their experience, Drown in comparison (in LB) is developing ok. Considering he is playing in a shit attacking side and is only 21!!

Give it up. You’re sugarcoating him then comparing him to Munster. The guy apart from his defense has been shit. Not average, not good. Time to take the blue and gold glasses off.

Not wanting to create an argument, just an observation however some of the Fox commentators (I don't watch Nein) still manage to speak highly of Drown and at times this year have even called him 'a real talent'. They sure as shit don't have blue and gold glasses on.

I sometimes think our Blue and Gold glasses work two ways. We either over rate our players, or we go looking for flaws in order to justify poor team performances. Perhaps there is some middle ground but f**ked if I know where it is.

I’ve also heard them say Kyle Flanagan is a real talent before too. Same with Lachlan Lewis. They talk everyone up.

So no exterior signings of note and you keep saying the roster is not good enough so where is the improvement coming from??? Especially if we keep the same coaching staff because we sure as shit know they aren’t capable of getting these players to the next level. Another year of being also rams but I suppose for you that will be very exciting!!

I love Drown. Imagine him with a coach like Bellamy? He has speed and the best D of any half in the comp. His D alone has kept our Eels in more games than I care to mention. He was a dynamic attacking player in the lower grades until our senior coaches got their grubby hands on him and not just him but the structures he is required to play. There are champion players everywhere. It takes good coaching to bring out their best. Sadly we havent had those for 10 years.

Fair points but I’ve also heard some stats read by one of the commentary teams, where they stated Drown has 1 line break assist. And that it just isn’t good enough. What’s your thoughts on him? You think he’s done a good job? Most posters here have already stated he’s defensively the best half in the game and very little else. I’ll go as far to say, that if he doesn’t improve and remains a half, we’ll remain the same team.

As for eels fans over rating their players. It’s being happening for years now. And will continue to happen.

This is also true. Maybe he will be a champion, who knows. But as it stands he isn’t, and his attacking stats suggest he’s in the bottom of nrl halves.

It's not impressive. Walker has double. And Munster has 7, not 5. Munster also has more tries (7-3), more try assists (10-2) and more LBAs (7-2). That's what you want from a half. Not a hit up merchant. Dylan might be decent in a position other than the halves. But right now at 6 he is a non-entity.

Jerome Luai has been a non entity since origin also.
