Or powdered sugar, ffs.
Can it be proven what the white powder was?
Should have just gotten their lawyers in and said “You think it’s drugs? Prove it. If not you can shove your fine and suspension up your arse.”

If the NRL continues with the punishment you take them to court. Wonder if they would win. It would at least add some interest to the off-season.
The NRL aren't punishing them for breaking the law, they are punishing them for bringing the game into disrepute. Lines of white powder on a table absolutely do that, or else how did the media get hold of the footage. Everyone's thinking it's drugs, including the dishonest merkins making excuses for them. That's all the NRL needs to prove.

I often party with the boys then put lines of sugar on the table for shits and giggles, it just creates a party atmosphere.

That journo was right to push the Storm rep, they must think we're a bunch of gullible idiots

NRL should have asked them to submit hair follicle samples.

The NRL aren’t allowed to ask for that in the off season.
Indeed I was being cheeky.

It's interesting how ASADA can say that not knowing what you have put into your body is not an excuse, however this is the very argument that Storm have successfully presented to the NRL.

This is not real world, not with ASADA and not with the law outside the game. Imagine if your excuse to a judge was "I didn't know how old she was your honour because I was so intoxicated" or a thousand other variations of same. To put it bluntly, innocence due to intoxication is usually a most unreliable defence.

To swing the narrative away from white powder to alcohol, the PR machine states both players have agreed to attend counselling/rehab for grog.

And yet Reece Walsh gets 2 weeks suspension. Why does he get double the suspension?
Both the NRL and Storm aren't taking this seriously. Walsh actually caught with drugs and Storm, even if not drugs, it is a very bad look. Storm players issued claytons penalties. Munster issued with $100k fine, but suspended, and on last warning for second time. Bellamy threatened to sack him several years ago for drinking and nothing has changed.

Everyone here is outraged by the Storm
players punishments but were happy with the Shaun Lane punishment.

Fair enough, but at least part of that was that he wasn't at our club when the incident occurred and I for one would have felt hard done by if we were punished too much for that, not that there would have been any other solution.

Yeah i remember when we got screwed in 2014 when peats got suspended for something he did at souths that happened at an O/S wedding.

I cant remember what he did as there was no footage of it either but the NRL acted tough back then on an incident no one had a clue about

I see in that same article that Čotrić has another 3 years to run on his $600K a year deal with the Dogs. No chance Gould will accept that. Why then sign Braidon Burns until 2024 and still have Corey Allan (2023) on the books and re-sign Aaron Schoupp until 2024?

Someone will be squeezed out and it will be the dude on the biggest money.

Yesterday I was at the lights on my way home and I found myself looking at a ute with a Partizan sticker in the back window. It's pretty common to see cars repping shitty English teams like Burnley and Portsmouth but I haven't seen Partizan merch since I lived in Sweden. Anyway I took it as a sign that Nicola is coming.

This whole story sounds fabricated
