Well, going back a fair while, this is how the news that Parra was signing Steve Edge as greeted by some.

Should adopt a wait and see on this signing, if Hands and others are good enough, we have experience to guide them.

Edge also had sterling kenny Ella put them in your side and even Hindy could play hooker

I reckon Hodgson is a pretty decent option to replace Mahoney in 2023 (not saying he is better then Mahoney that’s another discussion), and of course it’s a risk with his age especially for 2024…however it also depends on his contract value ..

anyhow regarding his age, sport science is now allowing players to push into their 30’s…and no longer have to retire at 30 like 20 years ago…

and also Hodgson has only played 130 or so games in the NRL, his early years were in a easier less physical comp..

I reckon we do. The Penrith leaders are more experienced than our guys, especially in big games. Maybe the Titans have less.

He use to like attacking on the edges too when we had Manu….while he gave the Taka / Semi combo lots of good ball too…..he used to also have 2 genuine hookers from the Peats / Pritchard/ De Gois combo in the top 17 …

the point being BA has liked a lot of things over the years, usually based on the players he has.

and just because Mahoney has played 80 mins doesn’t mean he won’t change…..maybe even this year with Rein…
