Why would we move Drown to hooker when we have the opportunity to play Rein. I think JA is long long long odds to be 14.
I wouldn;t do this either. But if they do put JA at 14 (coz they're saying he's in the top 17) then cant think of anything else. I mean, playing JA at lock would be worse than bringing back seph paulo.

I think Rein should be 14.

Agree Reins got to be on the bench. Mahoney is gonna struggle to play 80

You'd play Dylan at lock before playing him at hooker. Well, I would. I actually think Dylan could make a superb lock. Anyway JA will get his chance, I don't see the hurry given he is only 18/19. It's not like he will leave.

Yeah, i thought that too. Dyl at lock

But we have so many edges and middle forwards that it didnt make sense to put dyl at lock.

Basically, JA wont be in the 17 unless injuries to Dyl or moses or possibly Guth as Dyl could make a good 1.

Hmmm it’s a bit of a stretch to play the nepotism card after that article.

He has always been a great trainer and would have a good work ethic coming from his Dad & being at FG training since he would have been probably 12.

Unfortunately though weather its fair or not Jake will always have stigma that he is only playing because of his Dad.

Australian cricket was the same for the Marsh brothers. Who have been smashed for years because they kept getting picked through no fault of their own and the perception was they were only there because Geoff marsh was their father.

Everytime Jake has an average game its going to amplified like it was at back end last year when he came back for his 2nd stint and was clearly out of his depth.

Best thing for Jake to do is to establish himself somewhere else away from his Dad at another club less pressure.

And if BA is still coaching here in 3 years time he can come back as a established first grader.

Because i can see it ending badly otherwise.

No wonder all the Player managers think Parra lowball the players if they read the TCT training reports everyone looks a million bucks.
What else are TCT supposed to report, that our players are a cobbled together, fumbling, disinterested bunch of no-hopers? I read their reports, and like anybody else, take them with a grain of salt. At least they attend training sessions.

I was being a bit facetious.

Every club at this time would be training well.

And the 15-16 other clubs fans would love to get the information the TCT provide for their own club even if its all fluffy duffy.

I agree on all counts. Jarthur is still raw. Being the coaches son adds a lot of pressure to his still developing 19yo body and brain. Personally, I think he should bide his time for another season in the wings before even being considered in the top 17. This season, he should only be called upon because of injury to other players.

Yeah, I got that. But, I think that we all should take a step away for a moment and try to put ourselves in Jarthurs situation.

Son of the coach of the most scrutinised club in the NRL.
Peer pressure
Having the mental capacity to deal with self doubts and worth to the team because Dad picked him to play.
Dealing with the most insane supporter base in the NRL
These are just some of the issues I figure that he has to deal with. At the end of the day, he may not be up to it. But at this point in time I'm going to cut him some slack.

I agree with all that but TCT talking him up to play in our top 17 does him no favours

The stupid decision would be to have your 14 only able to cover the 6 or 7 in the event they get injured.
There is probably sufficient flexibility in the backs to accomodate Shrub on the bench.
BA never plays a hooker off the bench. He likes to flog his 9's to death and I hope he does likewise to Rheed this year.
The other 3 benchies will be pigs who BA will expect to play 8, 10, 11, 12 or 13 as required.
Our 14 usually only gets 5 or 10 mins game time each week so it probably dosent matter much either way.
Personally I like a 9 on the bench so my choice would be Rein but Id be flabbergasted if it happened.
