Rumours and Stuff

I don’t think it’s a gray area at all. It’s ludicrous to think that comedians should have to worry about getting physically assaulted in case they offend someone.

In general I agree with you (and particularly in this case). But there's always a line beyond which being a comedian doesn't justify what you say....thankfully that line is rarely if ever crossed. For example, there are some jokes that I recall from the school yard, that if I said them as a stand-up comedian I would not be surprised if (for example) an indigenous member of the audience gave me a punch in the chops.

If he was upset he should of punched him. Not slapped like a bitch.
But perhaps more appropriate would of been to just tell him verbally your crossing the line mate. Pull your head in.
To walk up and slap him? Very silly

There is a theory going around on twitter that Gus is after Luke Brooks and he thinks that they can trade a few forwards and young Flanagan for him.
Brooks is a lost cause i think.

He has just become a punching bag at this stage for the tigers supporters and a laughing stock with rival fans.

He would be better going over to England and play super league away from the media and scrutiny of the NRL.

Brooks is a solid first grader. Plenty of worse halves have won premierships.

I'm not sure. I think the fact it was so public could lead someone to slap rather than punch. The exchange afterwards leads me to believe it's real. OTOH the slomo looks fake. But I just can't see a reason to create drama in that particular way. So I'm on the fence with Gary.

Have any solid halves combos won premierships? Seems like you need to have at least one elite half.
Do you count Maloney as elite? I don't. He won premierships with Pearce and Townsend. Keary and Reynolds won a premiership together too. Reynolds was never elite, and if Keary is elite now (I don't think he is) he certainly wasn't in 2014. Cherry-Evans is elite now but was he in 2012? I guess Foran probably was back then.

I heard one of them on NRL 360 say he's on seven figures next year.
That's overs but he is a quality playmaker. If he wasn't so motivated by money he could've gone to a better club than the Tigers and won a comp by now. There's nothing fundamentally wrong with him. He's just happy earning overs at a weak club.

He's not happy now and has asked for a release at least twice.

Let me rephrase what I said. Have any “solid” pairings won a premiership? You need to have at least one above average half to win a premiership. All of those halves you mentioned had at least one player who was amongst the best halves for that season. I think you could make an argument for teams that have won with merely solid hookers or fullbacks but not both halves. In saying that Maloney was most certainly an elite player. He made 3 grand finals and won 2 premierships. Played 14 games for NSW and 3 games for Australia as well as winning Dally M five eighth of the year in 2016. That’s about as elite as it gets.
