Let me rephrase what I said. Have any “solid” pairings won a premiership? You need to have at least one above average half to win a premiership. All of those halves you mentioned had at least one player who was amongst the best halves for that season. I think you could make an argument for teams that have won with merely solid hookers or fullbacks but not both halves. In saying that Maloney was most certainly an elite player. He made 3 grand finals and won 2 premierships. Played 14 games for NSW and 3 games for Australia as well as winning Dally M five eighth of the year in 2016. That’s about as elite as it gets.
Next Immortal maybe?

Do you count Maloney as elite? I don't. He won premierships with Pearce and Townsend. Keary and Reynolds won a premiership together too. Reynolds was never elite, and if Keary is elite now (I don't think he is) he certainly wasn't in 2014. Cherry-Evans is elite now but was he in 2012? I guess Foran probably was back then.

Maloney is origin level. In his peak the best attack half in comp just with poor defense.
I agree not elite. He found himself in strong sides.
Brooks is a solid half. He is not the worse halfback in comp. If Storm lost Hughes I think he'd do a good enough job for them. But if your half partner I a star and you don't have a ball playing fullback prob isn't ideal. He would be ok at our club also I reckon.

I don’t think it’s a gray area at all. It’s ludicrous to think that comedians should have to worry about getting physically assaulted in case they offend someone.
Especially when Smith at first laughed, until he saw how pissed off his wife was. Then he put on the big macho man act. No wonder he’s the laughing stock of Hollywood.

I heard one of them on NRL 360 say he's on seven figures next year. I think he is potentially a good hooker as he has speed. Can't remember what his defence is like though.
Can kick, accelerate, pass.

Would be better than pj marsh

If Moses can fix his defence, I'm sure Brooks could too

Moses was on benji show and they talked about him a bit. Moses seemed sad that he was copping so much shit

I love taking the piss out if Brooksy, but i do believe if he left and joined a different club, he would play alot better. He isn’t worth the money he is reportedly on but i’s not his fault he signed the deal.
I think he would be more suited to a running 6 role.

Brooks is a solid first grader. Plenty of worse halves have won premierships.
He may be and has been solid at times in the past.

But he looks a shell of a player now due to the crap beating out of him.

It takes a mentally strong player to rebound. I reckon Brooks is better off going to the ESL less scrutiny and pressure away from spotlight.

The NRL is entering the late stages of trials with ball-tracking technology that has the potential to eliminate forward pass errors — among many other possibilities for the game.

The current NRLW competition has been using technology-embedded balls created by UK-based company Sportable, the brainchild of three South African rugby fanatics who have spent the past six years refining the technology.

Anyone else think that this concept is odds on to go completely pear shaped?

How often does a game get decided on a forward pass? I reckon its rare. Some are 50/50 and hard to tell. I like having the human element in sports and accept at times you may get the wrong decision. But that's fun, it makes you either laugh if its a positive for your side or angry if not. Take that away and it becomes a little plastic and boring.
