has anyone ever tested if you can pass an american football further than an NRL football?
I think the answer is obviously yes you can.
I think we should start using an american football for rugby league.
They are also harder to kick which would be good for RL as kicking is too easy.
I also think they are harder to catch. I don't know what to make of that.
Why not just use a cricket ball then?

Yes....Strangely enough, the only hard requirement in the rules is that the ball be inflated and oval in shape. Everything else can be varied by the ARLC as they see fit. And the shape of the standard ball has definitely gone more in the direction of the gridiron ball since the 70s.

What if we inflated the balls with helium? Or nitrogen? Or farts? Would that change the game much? Would it f**k up Moses' long kicks?

Didn't they fill a ball with helium once to see the effects? I seem to recall something like that on the footy show and El-Masri was kicking goals at Belmore from like 70 or 80 metres out....the ball just kept going when he booted it....
