Actually their strength is their willingness to let go of their expensive players to create space for others. Blake, RCG, Maloney, Mansour and Tamou were on huge money. Our fans would've spat blood if we'd let that calibre of player go without winning a premiership. Luckily Penrith have no fans to generate any media pressure.
Tbf i know some penrith fans midway through 2019 were at there wits end.

Team looked like it was going nowhere and they looked like they going around circles.

Under Gus they were releasing players early mid contract because he found a new toy/young kid.

Then after 2 years they would be gone and another kid come along and the cycle went on for about 6 years.

Penrith actually bowed week 2 of the finals in three consecutive seasons 2016 to 2018 and had horror seasons on the front and back end of those seasons in 2015 narrowly avoided the spoon and 2019 missed the finals.

Penrith's record in the period between 2014-2018 is pretty similar to our record between 2017-21. Only difference is they made one preliminary final and we got the spoon in our solitary season of complete failure.

I think Gutho is a bit uncoordinated so his execution isn’t always the best.
Agreed. Drown isn't yet very technical either. Moses and Mahoney have great skills though.

I’ve always wondered why they don’t have more fans. You would think that being in western Sydney rugby league heartland that they have would one of the biggest fanbases. I often go to Mt Druitt and I see more people wearing Eels jerseys than Panthers.
Because many of them are from Parramatta, or their parents are. That's the team they grew up with, but their kids grow up playing in Penrith.

Yep. Their secret was that they were ruthless about axing merkins if they had someone cheaper coming through. f**k what the fans think.
