Even premiership winning teams have plodders. The only valid criticism is that a team has too many of them, which isn't the fault of any given plodder. That's why it's dumb to look for scapegoats.

You need to field teams in Flegg and NSW Cup. You need blokes who play 100 NRL games, 10 NRL games and 1 NRL game. Blokes playing reserve grade before the age of 23 have a place in the game. It all comes down to when they've had enough of training like a first grader without getting paid as one.

It just means he'll be playing for Parra in 2023, but he is choosing not exercise his option for 2024 and will instead look to negotiate... Which is not to say he wants to leave, just that he thinks he might get a better/higher deal for 2024 and beyond. Much like RCG did during the last off-season....

..and deservedly so. If we’re smart we’ll recognise he’s a $mill player and use 2023 to upgrade him (as that’s our advantage) and get it sorted before November.

Moses played his last negotiation respectfully. I think we owe it to him to do the same. Not try low ball him like we’ve done with previous negotiations AKA Mahoney.

Matto was amazing in the lower grades. One of the best Ive seen coming through. Apparently Jake was amazing in the Junior Rep Teams. Unfortunately I didnt see any of those comps. My observations of him in grade are that too much is being asked of him too soon. One game in Flegg and hes probably had as many NRL selections as NSW Cup Caps. I also think we have let ourself down by throwing all our eggs in the JA basket by not ensuring we had an adequate back up, in the top 30, when last year proved he needed time to develop. A season in the 2s to assume control, because the truth is he never has with Rankin calling the shots, could be the making of him. I dont and never did see the rush to promote Jake. We have done him no favours.

Poor old murph must feel neglected at the post match review meetings as our captain said this week we only review defence after a match.

Dont bother looking at attack because we know we can score points whenever we need then.

I think a ball kicked dead in goal from inside your own 40 should be a play the ball to the opposition from their try line.
Reason: it would create space along the defensive line as the d would need to have more defenders back. It would also promote kickers trying to find space again getting away from these kicks deliberately down the fullback s throat.

Billy Slater ranked fullbacks in the paper yesterday. He rated Gutho 4th best in the NRL behind Paps, Teddy and Ponga.
