did you watch the final against the Panfers last year ?

you know, the one where the ref got dropped to NSW Cup after and the NRL inquiry for handing the game to the Panfers ?

I suppose that was somehow a BA's choke ?
Sure did. Good game but another finals loss. He put a lock in at hooker which was a disaster of a move. Similar brain explosion to when he put Dylan at Centre so he can accomodate his son.

Then how do you build a champion team, if it’s a production line for other clubs?
Which is what we want, means we will always have players playing at a greater level then what we are paying them, giving us the ability to keep the core of the side together (which appears to be starting props, halves , fullback)…..which ensures we continue to have a squad to make finals ….we don’t stuff our cap…

as @Poupou Escobar has posted about (with stats etc), making the finals constantly is what leads to premiership (and a champion side)….

It what the storm have done for years and Gus talks about in his cap strategy …..

#fakenews

don’t let the facts get in the way of a good story….3 hookers injured, no backs left in the squad…

great story but!!

Admittedly we were massively ripped off. There were numerous incidents and f ups by the officials which were inexcusable.
We were the better side and the grubiness from the likes of luai and kikau was downright disgraceful.
We all know the current squad we have gives us a huge opportunity to go all the way. The loss of so many players next year makes it more of a rebuilding year. Fans are tired of waiting for premiership success. Hence why we want it now. Development club means jacksh$t in the grand scheme of things. Premierships are where its at.

I didn't mention or refer to 'development club' at any point in my post, and that was not a part of my argument. Simply pointing out that clubs who are not consistently competitive rarely win premierships, and that the idea that the guys running the club don't care whether we win a premiership is just pulled out of someone's arse.

That's a good side. If we recruit a back rower or a prop, I reckon Taupau or McLean could be a good option to bolster the bench and both would be cheap. RFM for cheap or Frizell with Newcastle chipping in could keep us in the upper tier sides. I reckon Hodgo is a super underrated signing for us he's as good as Mahoney. Mahoney is not smart at all, Hodgo gives us experience and smarts.

Lol. I wasn't having a crack at you or your post. Not sure what the point of your reply to my post really is. Let that one go straight through to the keeper.
At the end of the day being competitive with little or nothing to show for it means sweet FA

Both teams had more experience and more star power. Tedesco and DCE are Origin captains ffs. Trbojevic won the Dally M last year. The rules also happened to suit faster teams last year, which wasn’t us.

Because we have a bunch of dudes on unders. But that doesn’t mean we have the best team. The top clubs also have a bunch of dudes on unders, the difference is they don’t need to eventually pay them market rates under the cap because they have advantages outside the cap.

Maybe they take us lightly? It’s not a big enough sample to say we’ve got their measure. And if we were as good as them we wouldn’t get flogged so often.
I look at the data over a long period of time. If we don’t lack resources why have we been so mediocre over so many decades? You can’t keep blaming coaches. Even if it’s their fault, why do we only get these losers?
Sixth place is a contender or Sportsbet would pay a lot more for them to win the premiership. QED
Roosters played with their B team last season because they had so many injuries. We were most certainly not worse than their B team. If having a superstar fullback was all it took to be a good team then we wouldn’t have won those spoons with Hayne. It’s a 17 man game and our team was better than both of theirs overall.
I never said we had the best team. I’m saying we finished below teams that we were better than.
What cap advantages does Penrith that we are incapable of matching?
As for Penrith and Melbourne taking us lightly it’s amazing how both of them have taken us lightly three times in a row now but they don’t for other teams!
It doesn’t follow that consistently lacking finals success means you don’t have resources. Could it be that the resources are not being utilised optimally?
Saying 6th place is a contender is like that So you’re telling there’s a chance scene in dumb and dumber. I’m sure it’s mathematically possible but it’s highly improbable. When people talk about contenders they’re not really taking 6th place seriously.

My arse is where it came from, this is the same club that re-signed their spoon winning coach a few days after getting 60 points put on them.

This is the same club that on the record has said they are unwilling to have anything to do with TPA’s. Which is ridiculous and makes it hard to keep your squad together.

This is the same club that had a review which wasn’t made public that kept the same entire spoon winning coaching staff together. What was the point of a review if nothing changed??? Oh that’s right we are now a development club, we are developing very well for the other teams around the league. And yes we finally got a HOF, wow amazing. We’ve had the same attack coach for nine years who has won two spoons at two different clubs and David Kidwell who has had to go to Yawnion to get another gig. I’d argue we’d have the cheapest and most bog average support staff in the entire league. does this sound like a club that is doing all it can to win a GF??? We have a CEO who got the job through the back door and has done or shown nothing to prove he deserves a gig. He goes missing when things aren’t going well but his stupid face is everywhere when things are going well. But yeah sounds like they really really really care!!!

2 finals wins in 9 years is where it’s at mate, you should be happy with that and not expect anything else.

Wow that's impressive. Baby steps. We are getting there. Let's shape the narrative to let everyone know we are competitive, we develop players, we don't pay overs (or do we), the players play for the coach, the players love the coach, our HOF is a shrewd negotiator and won't buckle to anyone and we have developed the playbook for other clubs to follow and emulate.
On the above alone I see 3 premierships in the next 5 years.
Pop corn ready...
